I was buying the patriot foods, etc., which is beans, rice, flour and such. But these meals are easy and good. It's about 8 dollars a meal, about as much as eating out. You pour hot water, preferably boiling, and let sit for 10 minutes or so. Only need a spoon to eat out of the pouch.Edited to add:For all you preppers, get enough to share with your neighbors. Every package of food in these Mountain House emergency supply boxes is a true, full entree meal, not a package of soup or some side dish like so many of the competitors load their emergency boxes with. And MH meals are all great tasting! You get what you pay for and you can't beat Moutain House when it comes to the value of their freeze dried meals.

Food ia good AFTER you season it. Please exercise common sense with freeze dried food. You would season food you cooknto taste, this also needs to be seasoned to your taste. I have tried mountain house food multiple times. It's good after a pinch of cayenne pepper and other seasons. It cooks very easily. Will definitely buy another box when the stock goes up.

This is true survival food. Just add water and let it sit. Excellent. Many survival foods you have to cook for 20 minutes, not this box of goods. This is the way all survival food should be! Very pleased and satisfied.

Well, aside from the massive price jump, top quality right here, and yes. It has to be seasoned and salted to taste. We're all different.

I cannot say enough about mountain house. They really have a spectacular selection. Prep is easy and the bags are reusable for waterproof storage. Even my kid likes the taste and she is super finicky.

$300 plus for 14 days. 3 chunky soups, 3 canned veggies, 3 protein bars, 3 pop tarts, 3 boxes of granola, 3 no frig milks, etc. times 14 days. What? $120 to $150? Maybe? 337 is insane....Way too proud when I could easily make a 14 survival bag of ready food for way less. Does it keep for 15yrs, no....I eat it before it expires and replace with fresh. Too much greed for what we can do ourselves. JMHO.

The Gold Standard in dehydrated food…I use mine as an emergency food supply…and for camping, hunting, fishing & mining trips.
