very hard to adapt any other lens to a CY mount, this opens up all M42 lenses to be able to work on a contax/yashika camera...well made, perfect fit.

I bought this for adapting an SMC Takumar 50/1.4 to a Contax, an ST, an RX, and a 139 in this case, but the C/Y mount is identical on all of them. This adapter absolutely will not work, as shipped, with the SMC Takumar. I have no idea if it might work with another m42 lens or with the earlier Takumars like the Super Takumars, or the Super Multi Coat Takumars, which had simpler ways to engage the camera body for metering than the SMC. With the SMC Takumars, the adapter fouls both the pin controlling the auto stop down aperture, and the piece which moves when you change the aperture. There is no way to screw the adapter onto the Takumar more than half way, without modifying the adapter--very extensively--with a lot of metal removal. After that is done, you can mount an m42 lens such as the SMC Takumar onto a C/Y body, but you won't have auto stop down.That was OK with me, as manual aperture control not that big a deal, which is why I gave three stars instead of one.

Well made. Allows infinity focus with M42 lenses on C/Y camera
