repetitive and kind of annoying
I thought it was repetitive and I didn't click with the author's sense of humor. I thought he spent too much time telling cutesy stories about himself and not enough time communicating information thats actually helpful or inspiring.

The book has a lot of good info and thinking
The book has a lot of good info and thinking, but hardly a revolution. Basically the message is: challenge everyone's thinking including your own and follow your heart in so far as you can meet you obligations to yourself and your family.

The Cure
This is an easy, fun read that just flowed. It was hard to put down, until I realised that if I gave myself a time limit around something I don’t love doing and added in something that I do love doing — listening to music and dancing around (both suggestions/ideas from the book), I could achieve a state of Nirvana. And that’s how I found myself on Spotify searching for The Cure and then blasting out tunes for the next 40 minutes whilst I tidied up at home — something I had been putting off and expecting to take hours. Well, yes, it would have taken hours had I added in the bucket load of procrastination I was preparing to make use of.This isn’t just a book about saying F**k It to your current job — although it could be if that’s what you want it to be. It’s much more than that. It’s also about doing more of what you love (and less of what you don’t love), in the widest sense — hobbies, interests, passions — which for some people could be turned into a business to earn a living from. And if your thing is breaking free and setting up your own business, then there is well structured, practical, sensible advice on how to set about doing that from someone with a wealth of business and marketing knowledge, understanding and insights. Its full of suggestions and ideas on how to balance work and life, how to change your perspective on life without compromising or pretending that everything is how you would like it to be. And it’s written by someone who has lived and experienced what he is writing about and who is honest enough to share that it is not all plain sailing. There are ideas you can take into your own life, business, job to make them more enjoyable, balanced, light hearted, fun and creative; to help you to be more effective and successful; to set you apart — if that’s your thing; to Do What You Love and to Love What You Do. I know that’s what I’ll be doing, along with listening to more tunes from the 80s and 90s, discovering new tunes and shaking it all out with some Qigong. Thanks John for filling up the ‘waiting room’ to give the time and space you needed to write this book.

Sometimes it’s just the spark I need...
Some diamonds in the rough, you got to dig for them. As well, you need to do some work to benefit from this book. Have a pen and notebook handy and then the real work begins. If psuedoscience isn’t your thing, just skip past the muscular weakness truth indicator part of the book.In the spirit of the book, this part is bollocks, but F it, I can get a lot out of the other parts!

Changed my life!
I was deeply unhappy in a career I hated & could see no way out. Sunday nights were the worst & I spent the week longing for the weekend. Reading this book was the start of a huge career change for me. I now work from home which I never in a million years thought would be possible. I also have a dog and spend my afternoons out in the fresh air, not stuck behind a desk. I'm not earning as much as I was but I cope & I'm much happier. Fate helped me along the way but you have to start with a small step & everything will flow from there.
