Sturdy and seems well made!
This arrived today and was very well packaged, which I appreciated. The compass floats and moves freely and all the rotating parts moved smoothly. The piece seems sturdy and well made, though it's also easy to take apart (which is my goal for costuming reasons!). I won't be using this for true functionality as it will be affixed to a hat, but it seems like it very well could be. If I ever take this hat on a boat I'll update this ;)

Not bad construction. Swivel isnt completely level but I didnt buy it for functionality. The picture may be a little misleading as the default position is not at an angle. I got the brass version
