Bought this to replace the stock TERRIBLE rack on a Craftsman R110. The old teeth were broken and worn. This rack was slightly tighter in the plastic sleeve, and physically looked just a little bit thicker. A little grease on it and it works perfectly. No ratcheting at all.*Note I also bent the back tab inward to press it closer to the steering shaft gear.It hasn't ratcheted once, even under a heavy steering load.

Doesn't fit right, I can't steer now.

I do not recommend! The fitment was great for a R1000 Craftsman mower. Direct bolt on, but didn’t last through one full mow of my yard. For reference it’s a 1 acre Florida Lot that’s about 50/50 of sugar sand, and bahia grass. Cutting the back yard seemed to be working fine, I had it slip 1 time. Get to the front yard and only a few rows in, steering wheel back to spinning freely. Upon disassembly, and inspection, same issue I had form the OEM part with years of service. The teeth had worn down 3/4 of the way on the steering rack bar and not catching the pinion/gear. Ended up spending the $65 and bought the MDT replacement. Which in the instructions. They stated in 2021 they redesigned the parts design and recommended switching them out to the new design. They’re now including a plastic spacer that fits the steering rack (flat bar) for between the mounting bracket and bar. Making sure there isn’t slack. I’d recommend saving your money, and just buy the MDT. like I had read in others reviews the metal is very soft and with the slack it wore down and became unusable with only 1 day of use.

This part is a perfect replacement for the original part and works great. Unfortunately, this steering design is wears this rack out in about one year of mowing. The original part did not do any better. This is the third one I've purchased.

Works great fixed once. And easy to fix

The gear and the bolts are very good quality. The rack that the gear moves the lawnmower with is very cheap soft and non hardened steel. It ground down very fast. The original part lasted 7 years this part only lasted about half a season. It is easy to change out but buy 2 because if you mow often you will need a backup

The media could not be loaded.  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐The lawnmower part I purchased worked exactly as described. I was able to easily replace the old part with this one, and it fit perfectly. The quality is impressive, and my lawnmower is back to working like new. I'm very satisfied and will definitely purchase again if needed.
