John these vests are a high grade leather and they are affordable. They run small by about 2 - 3 sizes I wear a 4x size and their 7x fit me. As far as your stomach being bigger than your chest I would use that number for sizing.

Not sure but my husband is 6 foot 4 and weights 230lbs. He normally wears a xl in his HD tee shirts. He ordered a 2x in this vest and it fits perfectly over a tee shirt. It fits comfortably, not too tight and not baggy.
