The thinking man's Conan. Excellent story with a different style of art.
- This storyarc and writing can only be appreciated by a more mature audience, that has life experience behind it to appreciate this book. This book will not resonate with younger audience, or folks just looking for artwork and shallow hack and slash adventures.. This is a master piece that required to reader to be at a level of mental maturity to be able to comprehend the many questions and explanations it presents. This is the thinking man's Conan.- This writing and take on Conan and Belit, was one of the best I have ever read. A good portion of it is story telling with a fresh new look and imagination.- I have read all the other Conan Chronicles, till this particular section, most were good hack/slash adventures with captivating stories rendered.- But this ... this is at a whole different level, for a comic, it takes a highly deep, philosophical tone, it actually goes deeper into what is life? by the time the reader is done with this story arc. The reader will emerge a changed person with many question.- This is the thinking man's Conan the Barbarian arc. And the most frightening thing about this story arc is, it mirrors reality of each and every one of us so closely.- I really loved reading this, I have a feeling the Conan - Belit story arc in the Conan Chronicles is one, that is going to only get more and more special with every read.- However, this is a story arc, that is not for everyone. I get it why people pick the art, but to me the art is different and interesting in it's own way.
