Two people come together in a dangerous liaison turned deadly affair. This is the provocative premise for Under Suspicion, a brilliantly crafted thriller starring Academy Award nominee Liam Neeson (Best Actor in a Leading Role, Schindler's List, 1993) and Laura San Giacomo (TV's Just Shoot Me). Tony Aaron (Neeson) is a private eye who makes his living setting up phony adultery cases with the help of his wife. But a routine set up fatally backfires when Tony's wife and his client – a wealthy artist– are murdered. At first, all clues point to the artist's mysterious mistress, Angeline (San Giacomo), but Tony is also named as a prime suspect. Both maintain their innocence, and guilt seems even harder to assign when the two plunge into a steamy, forbidden affair. One is guilty, the other is innocent - but the real killer might ultimately get away with murder.

pretty good thriller!
I was in the mood for a suspense film and ran across "Under Suspicion," which I hadn't heard of before. It does not have too much violence (though there is some). Liam Neeson's acting is great; the other actors are rather wooden. The story meanders, but all elements are important. Though -- I have to say -- some elements (like a key piece of evidence) don't really add up. Still, the end part is thrilling and clever. Altogether, it's a solid early 90s suspense film--very watchable. I would rate this 3.5 but gave it 4 for Liam Neeson.

excellent if you can ignore the script holes
Keeps the suspense running through this very Hitchcockian script. Just a warning - there are numerous issues that drop the credibility of the story. I count at least 10 holes you could drive a truck through. So you will have to suspend your credibility to really get into this and enjoy it. But that being said, it does pull the viewer in, wondering throughout just who is the perpetrator, why, and will they get caught eventually. Acting is good, and the director is obviously heavily influenced by Hitchcock’s style.

Mixes sex with a crime drama
Liam Neeson is a disgraced cop whose wife gets killed. He wants to find the killer. While investigating the case he gets involved with Laura San Giacomo who appears to be a femme fatale. The story mixes sex with a crime drama and does a pretty good job of it. The plot gets really intense at the end although a bit overdone. Like any good mystery there’s even a twist involved.

Good multiple murder mystery with a nice...
twist at the end that is quite surprising. Fine acting all around, tho I thought of Neeson in Taken and thought he could have used some of his 'special skills' in a few places here. Recommend.

A quality and atmospheric thriller
Watched originally in 91, caught the end of it on Talking Pictures so ordered it as remembered it being rather good.As I used to live in Brighton made the story even more enjoyable, and of course the twist at the very end of the plot.

Only in 4:3, minus a star! Otherwise, brilliant.
Glad to catch up on this gem on DVD, shame it`s not in it`s original Widescreen but that`s the fault of the director for choosing such an extreme format long before we all had 16:9 telly. Always a fan of this movie from the first time I saw it, and my late father who, like Neeson, was just a young man in the period it`s set in, he said how accurate it looked, he even had the same leather jacket Neeson wears. There are plot holes but nothing too insulting, this will gladly replace my old ex-rental VHS copy.

A twist
Saw this when recovering from COVID-19 and saw my beloved Portmeirion so ordered it.A so so thriller. Not Liam Neeson's best but it's ok with a gpod twist at the end.Great to see beautiful Portmeirion even if it's mostly night shots

OK but a little out of the normal Neeson box.
Not a bad film but not the Liam Neeson we know and love.
