Awesome product.
We just had our 20x40 inground pool replastered and used this product to help get rid of plaster dust. I added this product to skimmer as instructed (I only needed 6oz to raise sand filter pressure 2psi) and then used a skimmer vacuum brush to vacuum up plaster dust. Noticeably less plaster dust! I'm also using a regular brush, pushing it to main drain with skimmers turned off or down and this product is definitely grabbing more plaster dust than the sand filter does alone. Water also looks very clean and clear. I'll definitely keep this product in our pool supply stock.

extremely effective
An algae bloom appeared in our pool after leaving the cover off and not adjusting the chlorine dispenser for the extra loss of chlorine. My husband used what liquid chlorine was on hand to shock the pool and for good measure decided to dump in what remained of the bottle of algaecide. The algae likely all died at that point but with only a sand filter remained a little cloudy. We probably would have been fine at that point to just leave it sit for a week. Then my husband's father tried to solve the problem by adding about 3x the recommended amount of chlorine shock and more ammonia based algaecide. The pool became extremely cloudy so you couldn't see more than 1/2 of the way down and the chloramine smell was intolerable even standing several feet away. The idiots at the pool store where they took a water sample to be tested said the "numbers were fine" and maybe try more algaecide. The water had been cloudy with an overwhelming smell for weeks without improving.I decided to intervene because that algae was beyond dead and the problem was the chemical soup and dead algae particles that now filled the pool. Along with a chlorine neutralizer my husband added this to our sand filter until the pressure gauge started to go up. Within 24hrs you could begin to see the bottom of the pool again. Within a few days it was completely clear. My husband back washed the filter and large chunks of black gunk came out before the water from the filter was also clear again.Downside is it took over half the package to impact our filter and it is eliminated whenever you backwash so it's a somewhat high cost for a very temporary filter media. Only truly useful for fixing problems unless you have a different style of filter that will not simply flush the media out on to the ground when cleaning the pool or filter.Despite some seller and buyer comments this product is labelled for use in sand filters. Like many things you can add to sand filters to improve their effectiveness it just requires adding it more carefully in small amounts at a time because it will increase the pressure. Tanks without a safety can even explode from improperly using additives to boost filtration. It's better to replace your sand with one of the numerous alternatives that can be put in a basic sand filter such as zeosand or there are even fabric filter medias for filling up a sand tank that also avoids having to deal with the weight of any type of sand. More efficient filtering options will reduce or even fully eliminate the need to ever use such products unless you seriously neglect the pool.

Filter
Used in my cartridge filter and it got the very fine waste up after killing algae. Exactly what was needed. If you have the powder like substance coming back in returns with a carriage filter, this will do the trick to keep it on filter

Magic if you have a cartridge filter
I went from a D.E. filter to a cartridge and was so disappointed, but using Magic Jack’s filter additive makes the water crystal clear. It really helps in the Spring when opening the pool or if your pool gets cloudy and you need to clear it up fast. I use it all summer long!

Does What It Says
After using ascorbic acid and a sequestering agent, water was very cloudy. Running the filter several days did nothing. Pool Tech felt Filter Fiber Stuff was more efficacious than DE powder and was very impressed in a huge difference in a short time.
