Has anyone been able to get this filter into a 2013 ford explorer sport? both amazon and the k&n site claim that it fits but the gasket seems to thick

it is a little on the thick side , but it will fit, just takes a little more effort to slide the tabs in on the housing,then it will snap closed.

How do you 're-oil' this thing after washing? There are no specifics on the page about what type of oils you should use.

If you have the oilednone it comes with a small bottle of k&n and instructions oil normally if you have the dry synthetic one they don't get oiled.
