With the kind of work we do it just didn't hold up for very long. The numbers started peeling off after it got wet on a job site. Was not impressed with the in the field performance..

Not like they used to be.
Lufkin used to make excellent tape measures, the new ones are terrible. 3 months after purchase the scale is peeling off of the tape. Hard to wind due to 3:1 plastic winding mechanism, it binds up as you are retracting the tape and the teeth are already breaking off. Any debris on the tape will not allow the tape to fully wind back in. I was hoping to have a good sturdy steel tape but I will have to go back to the nylon open reel tapes as this one is junk.
