Casio G-Shock Mudmaster Twin Sensor Mens' Sports Watch (Black)

I am very happy to have ordered this watch. Most likely like yourself, you may be looking at a GG and the GWGs. Is the GWG worth it? That's up to you. To me it was not. Here's the scoop...I went to the store to see the G shocks in person. They did not have GWGs but they had GGs in beige, olive and the black and gold edition. They did not have this all black 1a edition since this is not a US edition. I tried the beige and olive ones on. They fit good but I was not excited about them. Seeing this 1a all black on Amazon I thought this was the best looking model so I gave it a shot. I am very happy I took the plunge. The white and black contrast makes for an easy to read beauty. It's not all tacti-cool like the beige or olive but I dare to say it simply looks better. The watch is large so be aware that sub 7" wrists might find this watch appears oversized on you. I'm 6'2", 200 lbs and have 7.25-7.5" wrists for comparison in the pictures. The watch wears light and comfy for it's size. I think the GWG would be too large for every day use. I'm happy to settle for the under appreciated GG series. Most people don't use all the ABC sensors and if you did you can get the Rangeman for 1/3 the price of the big MudMaster. I like the compass and temp sensor but I won't be using them daily. I do miss the the solar power but I can live without it if need be. Multiband is also nice but no one needs it. So anyways, the GWG is a sweet watch. But for me it's too big for daily wear and it's full of features that make it triple the price of a GG. I paid $230 for the 1a. I think that's fair for what you get. I would not however pay MSRP for it though as it should have more features to make it worth that price. So if you like the all black 1a I say go for this GG series. To me it looks even better than the GWG 1a. Those goldish numerals just don't do it for me. These white ones really pop against the black. I hope this helps you in your buying decision. Don't feel like a cheap skate if you get a GG. Be realistic and ask yourself if you really like the GWG for what it is.

This review is actually being posted by David (Christine's husband) - the watch is an authentic Casio Mudmaster G-Shock so have no concerns about a possible counterfeit. What I like about this model is the black LCD alphanumeric representation on a light gray/silver background as to some Mudmasters that have what is called a negative LCD display, meaning light numbers on a black background. While the look of an all black background with light LCD numbers might be desirable to some, I found it difficult to easily read without having to take more time to look at the readout, so I returned my first Mudmaster for this model and am very happy with my decision to switch. Plus, I like the bold white markings for the other numbers where there are no numbers. I have received two compliments already and the watch is barely a week old... and this comes from someone who also wears a silver and more flashy Breitling chronograph.

I am a long time watch lover and my tastes are evolving. I don't know why it took me so long to consider Casio for my collection, let alone to wear every day. I now have 4 Casio's, this being the best in terms of highest price. I'm now a huge fan, and I highly recommend this watch for 4 reasons. 1) it looks great for everyday use. Maybe too big and sporty for dress occasions, but highly styling (imo) for business casual to mowing the lawn. 2) it is highly durable. Fall in the water, do yard work, don't worry about the watch. 3) Compass and temperature sensors in addition to the usual world time, countdown and stopwatch, could be seriously useful. 4) Great value for the price.

Awesome watch. Haven’t tried the alarms yet but I don’t find the hourly beep loud enough to hear. Setting the watch was very easy and although the screen is a little “complicated “checking the time is quick and very readable. It is a big watch but is very comfortable and looks good on my small wrist. The back light could be better but it does the job checking the time in darkness. I wish MUDMASTER was bigger/more readable on the screen. All in all, a great watch at a super price. A definite keeper!

Awesome watch! It's a chunk of a very cool timepiece - large, handsome and masculine. If you are concerned about the watch being too big on your wrist (even on smaller wrists), don't be. It's supposed to be big. Wear it because you like it, wear it with pride and stop caring what other people think! The GG 1000 has a few basic drawbacks, i.e., hands sometimes obstructs the digital readout, it's not solar, no atomic time, night light does not illuminate the digital readout. However, it has several of the features in common with the Rangeman and the $550 GWG 1000. I love my Rangeman for all of its features but the GG 1000 is hard to beat in terms of looks. I'm definitely satisfied with it.

The media could not be loaded.  I got inspired & fascinated from my son's g-shock which I brought as a present for him. Light weight, good performance- compass, stopwatch, timer, alarm, either date or time can be opted in display at a time, day is displayed, large it is-which I like in size, value for money, high versatility - mud resistant straps & body, withstands water and falls, display & light is bright. Phosphorescence, which is a kind of photoluminescence makes it visible even at night.

Love them... Order 2. Was a little worried due to its price and come from H.K. But they showed up brand new! Nothing wrong with then at all.
