So i understand it opens in the am and closes inthe pm. but does it stay open all day? i don't want the chickens in the coop during the day .

Hello. I am not finished with my coop condo but have placed the Chicken Run door. I have not enabled the wifi and re programmed yet as i am not finished but the door is opening and closing with the default program which is: opens at sun up and closes at sundown. you can manually open and close by pressing button on unit. It will stay open while sunlight is out. Roger.

can an a possum or raccoon push door up because aluminum is so light?

It's possible but very unlikely a possum or coon could push the door up. It's very difficult to manually open the door due to the resistance of the motor. We have a lot of possums and coons in our area and one has never opened the door. We tried several automatic door openers and this has been the most effective and reliable.

What's the dimensions of the hole? I already had a hole on the wall, I hope is not too big.
