SONGMICS Small Animal Enclosure, Modular Fence, Grey LPC004G01

I have use so many different types of enclosures for my buns, but these are by far the best. My buns don’t try and chew them and don’t jump over them either,(even though they know they can) I only need to use as one high. But they are so easy to use especially if the are just cable tied together to make a movable fence. I’ve even used them a temporary puppy gate when I’m taking in deliveries. I wouldn’t necessarily trust them to hold the weight of more then one medium size rabbit at a time, especially without using another piece as a support wall underneath. They are also the nicest looking especially the grey ones (clear ones are ok just not as nice)Also so easy to connect and change the layout, I would just suggest getting lots of cable ties and a stanly blade. If you plan on changing them around as much as I do

I have an old 15 year old cat who can't hear, can't see well and her hips are not too good. She usually stays indoors even though she used to be an outdoor cat; now that the weather is getting nicer I decided to make her an outdoor enclosure where she can go outside and enjoy the weather without getting hurt.The whole thing was very easy to put together, one tip: Make sure the panels are clicked in on the correct side... I didn't check until it was too late.(Picture shows the built + net covering in case of bees and flies, fake grass and I covered the ramp plus top with a waterproof cover to create an easier ramp for my old cat and a cool shadow area underneath for when the sun is beaming + my cat -- Door is always open so she can go in and out as she pleases as I left one of the panels off and placed it under the ramp to give it extra support)

Lovely space so my rabbits could be indoors without chewing furniture.Easy enough to put togetherIt can easily be knocked out

I have had a similar product to this previously but I specifically wanted the ladders and larger squares which the previous product I bought didn't have.I'm not going to lie, it's a pain in the bum to put together, it's not difficult but it's a little faffy as you have to make sure every panel properly clicks in otherwise you end up with gaps and it's not stable. It took me a whole afternoon to set up my rat's free-roam area. I also added another layer to the height shown in the images as they love to role-play The Great Escape.I should point out that I had some panels from before, so not all of those shown are included. For example, I have five panels across the width and they only provide four and I've added more panels for height.These will be perfect for a guinea pig or bunny etc., they are not absolutely rat-proof purely because rats by nature love to chew through everything. Mine haven't started chewing yet but I suspect it's only a matter of time so it's worth keeping extra panels so that you can replace them if they start having a gnaw.Anyway, I'm pleased with my free-roam area. Any rat owner will tell you that it's virtually impossible to find something they can't chew through or escape through so they always need a bit of supervision and common sense, but this is the best run I've found for them in the few years I've been looking; it meets my needs and the price is ok for what it is. Hope this helps someone else make a decision on whether to buy or not!

Its easy to put together, the value for money is neither here nor there really we paid £35 for it but its fairly big however its not chew proof at all - our rabbit has bashed into the cage and it easily falls apart, and he's managed to chew through one of the panels in less than a week...... probably would of been quicker if we didnt keep moving the panels round to stop him getting through so easily!

This is a great product! It's simple to put together. Strong material. Very happy.I keep house rabbits and this is great for them. This is my second purchase with songmics as a couldn't find fault with the delivery or product with the first and again with this. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely love this item! Was quite fiddly to put together as some of the parts kept coming apart but once it was set up I was so impressed with it!

When I saw this I thought it was like Lego; build any shape you want, but the pieces are mostly rectangles. So there's only limited customising you can do; say take out one column.Also despite the description, it's possibly too small for guinea pigs; I don't think they'd make it up the grid stairs either.At first it feels flimsy, but as you get it built, it gets more robust. So far none of our hamsters or gerbils have escaped, nor found a way to chew it (make sure you put the side with the edges on the outside).The ladders aren't arent as well thought out though. They're 2 grids ziptied together. And the gerbils have got there legs caught on them a few times. So especially for fast moving rodents; I'd suggest supervising their playtime.

Par contre petit conseil aux personnes ayant des écureuils ninja/volant en guise de rongeurs, faites plusieurs tests pour confirmer votre installation, j'ai 3 rats en mode yamakassi donc il faut adapter pour qu'ils ne sortent pas. (Ils sautais d'une plateforme a une autre, marchaient sur les extrémités aussi fines soit-elle, et se laissais glisser le long des parois pour descendre)Bref je recommande

Ratten springen 60cm hoog. Gelukkig konden we hem naar eigen inzicht ombouwen zodat hij nu 70cm hoog is. De ratten waren niet zo gediend van hun nieuwe omgeving en probeerden direct te ontsnappen. Je moet het goed schoonmaken voor gebruik. Ook alles vastmaken met tie-bands is veel werk, hebben we niet gedaan nog.Het is een fors apparaat zo, ik denk dat we hem nog een keer ombouwen naar een vorm die wat minder ruimte inneemt

Habe mir das Songmics Gehege für die Innenhaltung von meinen Kleintieren als Winterquartier bestellt. Damals hat es ungefähr 35 Euro gekostet. Da nur ein Eck im Wohnzimmer zur Verfügung stand, konnte ich es nicht so groß bauen, wie ich es gerne getan hätte. Es sind daher noch 8 große Platten übrig, mit denen man noch eine richtig tolle Erweiterung machen könnte, wenn der Platz gegeben ist. Für die Tiere wäre das natürlich ideal! Der Aufbau gestaltete sich ein wenig schwieriger als ich dachte, da das Zusammenstecken der Platten mit den Steckverbindungen einiges an Kraft und Fingerspitzengefühl erforderte. Das hat mir aber nichts ausgemacht. Die Platten wirkten etwas beweglich und nicht so stabil wie erwartet, jedoch aus einem guten Material und wenn sie mal zusammengesteckt sind, hält das Ganze auch. Da man die Platten leider nicht als Boden einbauen kann und dafür auch die Schlitze nicht geeignet wären, hab ich zum Schutz des Bodens unter dem Gehege eine Plastikfolie (große Müllsäcke) eingeklebt. Eine stärkere Folie wäre natürlich um einiges besser, aber die hatte ich nicht zur Hand. Die Platten sind gut einsehbar, was mir wichtig war, damit man die Tierchen auch durch die Abzäunung beobachten kann und das Ganze schöner und freier wirkt. Für Meerschweinchen ist das Gehege wirklich ideal! Es müsste für sie gar nicht mal so hoch sein, denn sie würden sowieso nicht über die Abgrenzung klettern, da sie sich in ihrer gewohnten Umgebung, wo es Futter und Wasser gibt, einfach am Wohlsten fühlen und der Erkundungstrieb lang nicht so groß ist wie bei anderen Kleintieren. Für echte Zwergkaninchen (die mit den kurzen Öhrchen) wäre das Gehege wohl auch noch geeignet, wenn man es richtig groß macht. Für normale Zwergkaninchen bzw größere Kaninchen wären die Platten zu niedrig, wenn sie nicht außerhalb des Geheges laufen sollen. Für Ratten, Hamster und Mäuse muss das Gehege völlig dicht ausgeklebt werden (zb mit durchsichtigem Paketband), damit kein einziger Schlitz mehr vorhanden ist, da diese Tiere sonst mit Sicherheit anfangen würden, die Schlitze aufzunagen. Weil meine Nacktmeerschweinchen und Farbmäuse unbedingt im Haus überwintern müssen, hab ich dieses Gehege für beide Tierarten kombiniert und ein selbstausgedachtes Konstrukt aus den Gitterteilen und den Platten als Mäuseburg konstruiert. Die beiliegenden Kabelbinder waren dabei eine sehr große Hilfe! Hab ziemlich lange an dem Gehege gewerkt aber es hat sich ausgezahlt und ich bin sehr sehr froh mich für dieses Gehege entschieden zu haben! Die Einrichtung kann man dann natürlich individuell auf die unterschiedlichen Bedürfnisse abgestimmt auswählen und seiner Kreativität völlig freien Lauf lassen :D Die ideale Einstreu für Meerschweinchen sind Hobelspäne plus eine dicke Schicht Stroh darüber. Sie lieben es sich ins Stroh einzugraben und alles sieht immer schön und gemütlich aus, weil alle Köttel durch das Stroh fallen und man sie dadurch nicht mehr sieht. Ganz unten kann auch im Idealfall nicht klumpende Katzenstreu rein getan werden. Oder man verwendet grundsätzlich Vlieshaltung! Da mir leider die Farbmäuschen meine Schutzfolie angefangen haben kreisförmig wegzunagen am Boden, weil sie sich Gänge ins Stroh gegraben haben, bin ich als Experiment auf Katzenklumpstreu umgestiegen, die man auch dann super mit der passenden Schaufel aussieben kann und keine Generalreinigung mit Unmengen an Mist mehr anfällt. Zum Stinken beginnt auch nichts mehr. Aber eine gewisse Staubbildung ist in dem Fall leider gegeben, wenn die Meerschweinchen rumlaufen und zb auf die Etagen springen. Das ergibt auch ein gewisses Geräusch, wenn die Katzenstreu gegen die Platten knallt. Einfacher und gescheiter wäre es bei Kleinnagern wie Mäusen daher, gleich eine dicke Folie als Boden reinzutun, die nicht aufgenagt werden kann. Und die Einrichtung muss so gewählt werden, dass die Tiere nicht leicht über die Platten klettern oder springen können. Für andere Tiere wie Echsen, Küken etc ist das Gehege sicher ebenfalls der absolute Bringer!! Fazit des Ganzen: man kann seinen Kleintieren ein wirklich schönes Leben durch dieses Gehege ermöglichen und das sicher in jeder Wohnung oder Haus. Man kann es auch endlos erweitern, wenn man weitere Songmics-Gehege dazunimmt. Und leicht zu reinigen sind die Platten obendrein auch noch!! :)
