DenTek Platinum Ultimate Comfort Nighttime Dental Guard

I started grinding my teeth after having a child, because children do that to you.I tried a few "custom fit" dental guards from Amazon and came close to liking none. They all shrank and shriveled up to something that lacked any credibility. The dentek one that came with a tray was almost there, but the tray was one-size-fit-all and I felt like my mouth was a bit wider than the tray, because the end result felt very pinch-y once I tried it on for the night.So I thought I would give this one a try, and I've been wearing it for a month straight now.It doesn't require molding or boiling and is not very intrusive. The adjustment on one side of mine broke after the first night, which meant it would slide and become longer during the night, but it wasn't a bit problem and I'll keep an eye out once I buy a replacement to see if it was just a fluke breakage. I can't say if it's really working, as teeth grinding is a very gradual process and mine was never severe enough where I would wake up with jaw pain and headaches, but I do see bite marks on the padding so it's doing something.I would give this a try if the boiling type frustrates you as much as it did me.

I am a violent tooth-grinder by night. I quickly destroy products like this... But this particular product has been a lifesaver for my teeth and my wallet. I had an expensive $300 one from my dentist that worked fantastically, but um... my dog ate it... (such a cliche, I know!) I agonized over this because I could not afford another $300 one. (Especially not after having to spend $500 for x-rays for the dog...) I found these on clearance at the store. I generally chew through the store ones in less than a week, but I needed to get SOMETHING. This one actually lasted me! It lasted a whole month... and then my OTHER dog ate this, too. Sigh... I love my dogs, but COME ON! So I bought another one (and I keep it on top of a 6-foot bookshelf now when it is not in my mouth, lol!) and so far it has lasted 2 months for me and looks like it will last a few more yet. You can see dents from where my teeth are grinding, but it is holding up remarkably well, especially compared to the others I have tried. I love that this does not require you to boil it and shape it before you can use it, too. I have since found out that Den-Tek has discontinued this product, and I am heavily considering purchasing another while I can still find them for when I do eventually destroy it.

It’s hard to know if you have it adjusted correctly, but as long as you have one molar behind the guard I think it’s correct. I woke up a lot throughout the first night of wearing it but I assume that’s because it’s new to me. After the first night I can see mild impressions where I was clenching throughout the night. I wonder how long the material will last. I believe the box says it’s guaranteed for 6 months. This is also the guard my dentist recommended since I didn’t wanna pay $400 to have one made at the dentist office.

I bought this “new and improved” version to help with a sudden case of TMJ. Previously I had another version similar to this (same brand), just blue in color and the bite plates sit on your bottom teeth and wrap around the outside of just the bottom teeth. Worked SO well. That version was about double the price of this one when I placed my order and I thought, this is the newer one, might be better. Nope. The bite plates do wrap around to the outside of the bottom teeth and also the top teeth. So your jaw has to be aligned perfectly for this to be worn comfortably. Apparently, mine is not. And to make matters worse, this is actually aggravating the TMJ and making it substantially worse. The actual bite plate on this is slightly thicker than my old blue one, which is nice, but doesn’t make up for the other issue. I am frustrated this is making my issue worse, and that the simplified version that worked so well, which is older and has less material and features is more expensive. Clearly they know how good the older version is, or it wouldn’t be priced so much more. Really disappointed this is making my already frustrating issue so much worse. I am hoping dentek will allow me to return it to them without the original packaging. I thought why keep all this, it will be fine! Fingers crossed!

The product seems to be of good quality. It is comfortable, easy to adjust, and easy to sleep with. It seems like it does a good job of protecting your teeth from damage from grinding. However, it didn't solve my issue which was pain in the jaw joint and muscles from grinding. In fact, it made the jaw pain a lot worse. If you need something to protect your teeth, this is a good product. If you're looking for relief from jaw pain, this is probably not the solution you need.

The product works, technically. It keeps my teeth from grinding for sure, but in the process it can adjust itself while it's in my mouth and start grinding against my gums. The way that it's adjustable is great for making it a good fit, but the same thing makes it loose enough that it can cause discomfort and even pain while trying to sleep. Though I have had nights where I slept really good because I was able to get it to adjust correctly and I'm not slip around.

The adjustable feature added more hassle than convenience. I liked the bite pads but they seemed too wide and I'd find myself pushing them off to the inside of my cheeks. I also found it took awhile for me to find the right adjustment for my mouth Everytime I'd use it. The adjustable legnths did not seem to say where I'd set them and the track on the sides always seemed to bother the inside of my cheeks because the soft tissue would get sucked into them at night and cause weird marks I could feel in the morning. I also had to cut the thin top half of because it would dig into my gums making it even harder to find the right placement. I also find myself pacing the bar that wraps around the front outside of my lips just to get the right fit. I also started to notice a groove on the inside of my cheek from where the top of the guard would rest.

Really disappointed package came opened. Like the giant tape sealing it was previously opened. Item looks a little dirty. Not what I’m hoping to find in a mouth guard!

Las gomas de plástico lastiman mis encías en ambos lados de mi boca, su forma provoca que mi boca quede abierta durante la noche lo que provoca deshidratacion en labios y lengua.No recomiendo el producto, además es caro.

Leí muchas reseñas en otros lados y compare con varias opciones, es bueno pero lo esperaba mejor para ser el producto estrella de la marca.

Esta guarda no sirve, no protege nada y está gigantesca.
