Saved me $36 bucks!
I had a older quart of Barge cement that had become more solid than liquid and unusable. My options were to either buy a new quart for $36 dollars plus tax, so closer to $40 I suppose, or to take a chance on buying a can of this thinner for $25 and see if it would make my cement workable again. I chose the cheaper option... It can be messy to pour to start with, but with a bit of thinking before pouring you can avoid any mess. I used a funnel to pour it, and never spilled a drop. I was surprised at how quickly it worked! after a few minutes of shaking, the thinner had all incorporated into the glue and definitely thinned it out. It did take a couple times to get the proper viscosity for the glue, but I have a very usable pot of glue now, and have 2/3 of the can of thinner for future use. so all in all, this was very worth the money! I read reviews of people having it being messy and creating a stringy gloopy glob of the glue, and all I can say is those are all 100% user error. if you take your time to pour properly, its not messy. and if you are patient, and give the thinner time to do its work, the glue comes out just fine, with no gloops or globs.

works really well
def use ventilation, and get your placement right the first time, there are no second applies. Strong bond, but if you're using with eva foam, heat set your piece before using glue or it will delaminate with additional heat application. also is great for sticking velcro on a sandal that needs an extension. best if you get a glue pot so the main body won't dry out so easily. the applicator brush that is on the lid, is a stringy pain in the butt. so you're really better off having a smaller application system. Thin coats, dry and then apply

Works as a cleaner too
Works as a thinner for your cement when it starts to dry out. It also works well as a cleaner before you apply the cement.

The best leather glue to use.

Works great!
Does a good job of thinning contact cement in a can. I would also recommend buying some pipettes, to draw out a controlled amount of the product, instead of trying to pour it directly from its can.

If you have Barge Cement: Buy the Thinner
I didn't buy this until after going through over a quart of the cement and I feel stupid. There is absolutely no downside. I'm now mixing 1/3 thinner to my cement and not only am I using way less cement but the application is more even and smoother to apply. Using thinner does mean it takes a bit longer to tack and be ready to put your two pieces together but 15 seconds with a hair dryer completely erases that delay. And that makes it totally worthwhile.
