ColumbiaMen's Newton Ridge Plus Ii Waterproof Hiking Boot

Comfort at a reasonable price
I have had the boots for some 2 weeks and so insufficient time to make a full assessment. Indeed, it would help if requests from Amazon for reviews were delayed until a month after purchase. That said, the boots came earlier than expected and, to date, I have no complaints. They are comfortable to wear and appear to be robust and waterproof but only time will tell if this remains the case. I wear them daily when walking my dog on a range of surfaces with a variety of weather conditions and so far all is well.

Great value, fit and def waterproof
Spent ages looking for a pair of boots. I usually stick with goretex shoes (never good enough for wet winters) as find boots either annoying and heavy or lightweight but leak water (especially material whether goretex or not)but after a few soggy walks this autumn I was determined to spend some decent money on leather waterproof lightweight boots. Spent ages comparing brands and reviews for boots around the £150-200 mark but couldn't quite find a pair that matched what I wanted. Having previously worn and liked Colombia shoes I saw what they had and came across these for an absolute bargain price. Can't go wrong. Lightweight, waterproof so far on a handful of soggy dog walks through long grass and comfortable. Grip also seems good. I was worried they might feel a bit tightbon the width as my shoes were but these are more generous and fit a size 10 perfectly. Highly recommended.

Comfortable and lightweight
I have 'Fred Flintstone' feet, so finding walking boots to fit is always a challenge without needing a bank loan. I researched lots of boots online and read numerous reviews before settling on these. They were mid price but I only wanted them for dog walking.I walk across trails that consist of dirt, grass and stones of all sizes in the summer and slippery mud, stones and long wet grass in the rest of the time. These have proven to be very impressive. They roll over the stones without feeling that sharp dig through the soles. They are lightweight so even when mud filled aren't like diving boots. They have excellent grip so I have much more confidence coming down the hill that my previous boots gave me. My feet have stayed dry in all conditions so far, the long wet grass has not penetrator. I walk through 1 or 2 inch puddles normally with just a hint of wet feet by my instep. This is because the tongue is a bit short, so overall they are very good, very good even.My only gripe is the tongue is too short. To be perfect the tongue could be an inch or two longer, which would make them both easier to tie and give total protection from any water coming over the top.

This is my favourite footwear option ever since I got it
I'm usually fussy with boots and shoes/sneakers, but these are perfect for almost any occasion. Not sure if it's going to rain? Wear these boots. Might have to go through muddy terrain? They'll have the necessary grip. To top it all off they feel super comfortable. I'm considering getting an extra pair.

The most comfortable walking shoes!
I had arranged to return these shoes as so many reviews say that they are not waterproof. I am so pleased I changed my mind. They are unbelievably comfortable. Waterproof? To a degree they are. However in a recent storm they did let in water at the top of the shoe. Walking in wet grass though was fine. Laces are good too easy on and off and they don't come undone. I am thinking of buying a second pair in a different colour.

Terrible build quality
The shoe is comfortable and fits almsot true to size, but after only 1 and a half months of usage, the thin fabric which acts as a bridge for the laces to go through got ripped apart. Now the laces are too long to use without them. I have only used the boots for a handful of times, and only went on one easy hike, in sunny weather. I am terribly dissapointed.

Comfortable and great value
This is the 3rd pair of Columbia boots that I have purchased. They offer great value, comfort and great performance in all weathers.

Comfortable, but soles wear out much too quickly.
I found these boots to be very comfortable, and had no problems breaking them in. They're also waterproof, which is important to me as I wear them doing my job as a postman. As such, I walk around 100 miles a week on pavement. I appreciate this is probably more than most people, however compared to other boots I've bought to do the job the soles on these have worn right down in just under a month of wearing. I'll not be buying another pair.
