SheafferAward Matte Red Medium Nib Fountain Pen

Fatter than expected
And a lot heavier. No was as comfortable to hold as the Lamy All Star. There was a small scratch on the black matt barrel, revealing the silver barrel beneath. Unimpressed! If the pen was manufactured by Lamy, the pen would have been rejected. How do I know? - Lamy use lasers during manufacturing their pens, like Fisher. But not Sheaffer.I like my pens to be perfect. Also, its Sheaffer 8513sh Refill will be an absolute pig to replace because it's very difficult to remove and replace.

Nice big chunky pen.
I bought this pen for one simple reason. I am dyspraxic, meaning my writing is a mess. Having a heavy and large pen allows me to have presentable writing. This pen works very well and if it is anything like my previous sheaffer pen. The refill will last an extremely long time.Overall for the 7 pound I paid for it, I am impressed.

Great pen
I personally really like and enjoy using this pen. It looks good and appears to be well made. It's a wide pen which makes my larger hands ache less when writing compared to a normal size pen.The soft grip is also comfortable, it's the only pen I use now.

Fraudulent description
This is an inexpensive Shaeffer Award, not the well regarded Shaeffer 300, this is fraudulent. It writes very well and plenty smooth, and as a pleasant surprise, the cap and barrel are actually brass (thin, plastic lined). Section is all plastic, with a rubber grip which I dislike.

No ink with pen despite the description including ink.
The pen is fine. The one star rating is because the description says this item comes with one blue and one black ink cartridge - I received neither. It was just the pen with no ink.
