Spear & Jackson Predator B9821Bowsaw 21-Inch Bow Saw

Have bought this (with a wet wood blade for tree pruning). The shape shown on the product photo is better for this as the frame shown is a triangle with a long straight side. The version delivered has a bend towards the end which means the saw cannot fit into smaller gaps so not so practical for this application.Not returning as have to get on with the job but photos need to be updated!

This is a very solidly made, comfortable saw and the stiffness of the frame with the adjustable tension allows for a nicely rigid blade. Cuts dry, sawn timber nice and straight, without wandering or sticking with the supplied peg tooth blade; should handle hard, dryish branches easily Hven't tried this blade on wet stuff yet as I have the wet version as well with the raker teeth for that. Good buy if you like quality and stress-free sawing. Even if you don't buy this saw, definitely buy the Predator bow saw blades for whatever frame you get...these are smooth cutting and very sharp. Quality.

I initially bought a Kent & Stowe bow saw but it fell to bits before I ever used it. I returned it and got a refund. I replaced it with this Spear & Jackson bow saw which is an excellent product. My only concern is the plastic strip that protects the blade. It cracked before first use and so not fit for purpose, but I did email the manufacturer informing them about this matter. I think most bow saws probably have a similar plastic strip. I have used this Predator bow saw for three days and it has performed very well indeed.

Finally found something that ensured the hubby would be able to get rid of the tree that has been laying across our lawn for a month now. He had claimed that none of the tools we had would work-no excuses left after this arrived!!!

This bowsaw by Spear & Jackson is a good quality saw which is easy to use, being light and manouverable in tight corners, has a sharp blade and a strong handle. Very pleased with it and would recomend it to other people.
