The lid of the cooler cracked at the hinge and ORCA will not warranty it because ron's hardware is not an authorized dealer. The cooler lasted less than one year. For the price, I would have expected it to last a few summers or for the warranty to cover the new purchased products with receipt. The best ORCA could do was to give me a slight discount to buy some more of their products but I don't think I will purchase anything from them again.

Considering how much this cooler cost me, the lid should make a tight seal with that base and not leak when turned on its side.

We took this cooler on a five day camping trip at the beach. The weather was in the 80's and 90's every day. While with all the opening and closing we had to replace some ice. But our meats, dairy and vegetables stayed nice and cool the whole time. However, be weary that this cooler is a beast. It's very heavy (even empty) and requires two people to tote around. That said, I wouldn't trade this cooler for any other. And the price and performance is as good or better than the Yeti which is constructed much the same and charges a premium for the brand name.

I own a Yeti and now 2 Orcas. Both quality products, for sure. But imo, the Orca is a higher quality cooler. They both hold ice for a very long time- in that area they’re basically equal.. but the materials that Orca uses are a little nicer- the handles, gasket, drain plug, fasteners, and hinge are just a little bit better. A huge plus is that it’s made in the USA, and a little cheaper( which is crazy)! Buy the Orca! You’ll be happy

I froze 12 24 oz Pepsi bottles filled with water to line the bottom, put my food and stuff in it and then put 20 lbs of ice on top. After 11 days there was some ice left and the Pepsi bottles were only about half thawed out. Avg. temp. was around 75 and at night 55.

It came with a check list however everything that was checked off was there except the drain plug which renders the whole item useless.

Love this cooler!! Works really well, however, we have not had a chance to use it in the summer yet. Used it for big game hunting where it was rather cold at night.

Keeps ice for along time
