She's no Richard Branson
I bought this book because I had wanted to learn more about how Michelle Mone set up her business - the challenges about registering a design and trademark; how to break into a world that you have no experience or contacts in etc.. I saw her speak at a conference 8 years ago but I had been able to find very little about this aspect of her business online. Unfortunately the book isn't as detailed as I would have liked. She seems to gloss over a lot of these parts, which leads me to question her knowledge/experience on it. For example, there is no mention of trademarking her design & she jumps from a launch in Selfridges to being in debenhams & every other dept store in the UK with only a change in the page.Apart from that, I feel that there is too much on her husband & probably rewriting of history. If I want to read that kind of thing I can get it in Hello Magazine. But for me the most interesting thing was that this book has made me question what success is. Is it being 'on top'? Is it money? Is it being able to vandalise just because you can pay for the damage? Is it being disrespectful to the people who helped you on your way up?Her behaviour towards Penny Lancaster showed up her lack of integrity and honour. She further proves that, by divulging more personal information that is frankly no-ones business. She does the same kind of thing talking about Shane Warne. I felt like saying, 'show dome dignity, keep it to yourself'I have been running my own business for 16 years. I choose who I like to do business with. From reading the book, she is not someone I would choose to do business with. I thank her for her honestly, but it doesn't do her any favours. She is no Richard Branson.

An easy and enjoyable read
An easy and enjoyable read. Has obviously done very well for herself and deserves her success. Relationship with her husband sounds like hard work and we obviously only hear one side. Too many cliched descriptions but that's being picky, it's not bad at all.
