Updates fail to work. The program cannot find the MicroSD card but the reader is still usable regardless of that.

My car wouldn't pass emissions. So after watching couple online videos. I decided to purchased this. I rather invest in this and learn . Fix it myself rather than bringing my car to a shop and charge for unnecessary expense. My car had couple of trouble codes. One of them was a misfire. This tool has mode 6. It tells me which cylinder is misfiring. It helps alot in narrowing it down. Another code was for an catalytic converter. After plug my scan tool into it. It was actually an oxygen sensor instead. The tool will give you live voltage of the sensor, so you would know which one is bad. The third code was something with evap system leak. That was the most differcult of all. It took alot of time. After fixing the problems. I used this scanner to clear the codes. While I'm driving I used one of the function to monitor the sensors and evap system. The codes never came back. So I would know I am ready to pass emissions. It's a really good investment. It will save you alot of money. If you're an handy person. I would definitely recommend this to you. But if your a person who does want to get there hands dirty. I rather not. Really tool more functions than what I needed. Price is average.

This is a great scanner for the money. Especially if you have an SRS or ABS light on. It is pretty much straight forward out of the box, only hard thing was registering and checking for any updates. The instructions for the update/reg that came in the box didn't work and it wasn't until I rechecked listing that I found the correct instructions. So besides that being a pain it worked great on my 2005 Volvo S40.
