These lights are awesome!! We recently purchased a new-to-us home and the previous owner apparently looooved CFL - I mean seriously, everywhere you can put a CFL, they put a CFL. Indoors, outdoors, in floods, in cans, in pendants, in chandeliers... Everywhere... Perfectly great lighting fixtures ruined with crappy light bulbs.... Anyway, I been on a mission to replace ALL light bulbs in this house with LED's now that you can actually find pretty good deals.Fast forward about a week and we eventually got to the under cabinet lighting and while those weren't CFL, it was just a mess under there. Two, maybe, three bulbs were correct, but most of them were oversized bulbs which required the the previous owners to take out the UV filter and/or the housing cover to make them fit, etc.It basically just looked like crap...Since I didn't realize there were small G8 LED lighting fixtures out there, I did my 7th trip to Home Depot that week and purchased 10 halogens of the correct size so at least I'd get some uniformity back in the light output. Thankfully I didn't install the halogens immediately because I decided to see if there were LED's for these under counter puck lighting fixtures - and found these - which were apparently are priced really well at 4 for $25. I read the reviews, looked hard at the images, looked hard at the fixtures and pulled the trigger on 4 sets of 4 (I mathed that one badly, I only needed 3 sets, but now I have spares for maybe desk lamp or something down the road!!!).I am very very impressed with these things! Compared to the installed halogens, these LED's put out a nice clean white - but I was really impressed with the light output and spread of this light. Nice and wide and the counter is just gleaming everywhere. The halogen bulbs exposed all the reflective back paneling in the fixture which is why they focused the light on the counter. The ceramics on these LED lights minimize that effect as it covers most of the reflective surface so the LED itself can spread its light. And the reflection of the LED pack on the granite looks pretty cool too.I can see how someone might think the leads are a bit short - especially when you compare them to the halogen leads. But for me, they inserted correctly, inserted firmly and held in place just fine without support. The most important part for me was that the whole light fit inside the puck area nice and clean so I could put the puck cover back on with the filter. I am probably limiting the lifespan of these by trapping the heat, but I like having the filter. These are nowhere nears as hot as halogens, but they do put off a little heat - still very touchable and you won't burn your flesh off, but it is heat nonetheless. I have extras so I am not sweating it. :)Update:2024 checking in here.... I had a light fail and looking for where I bought them, I stumbled up on my review and realised I bought spares back in 2016. Found them and resolved the situation. First light failure happened 8 years later after installation - so that says a thing :D I wish they kept these available... But yeah!

Great Replacement Bulb for Halogens in Puck Lights
I ordered these on Saturday and they arrived Monday morning. I had first bought some Xenon bulbs from HD, which said that they ran cooler, than the regular halogen bulbs which I was replacing. I was concerned that in the tight wooden cabinet enclosures the halogen lamps might generate too much heat and perhaps start a fire. However, I installed one Xenon bulb and it seemed to heat up just as much as the other regular halogen bulbs, hence I ordered these. They installed very easily and fit well in my three under cabinet puck lights because of their bowl-shape and I was able to keep the glass covers on. The only problem that I had was that, they stayed on very dim even after I shut the wall switch to off. This was probably due to the fact that the switch itself has a small light that draws a small amount of current, but it was actually enough to keep the three bulbs dimly lit. So, I went to HD and got a dimmer switch (without light) designed to handle LED as well as other bulbs.. After I installed this switch, the bulbs work splendidly and do turn completely off, when the switch on the dimmable control is switched off. They dim considerably, although not quite as much as the halogen bulbs, and they can be raised to very bright, about the same as the halogens. I had the bulbs on fairly bright for several hours and the glass covers did not feel even a bit warm. I have not noticed any buzzing or sound.. I really love this purchase and will remain pleased as long as these last a decent amount of time.

Pretty good deal, but --!
These little lights work pretty much as advertised. We only just installed them, so no idea (yet) about how well they hold up --. They slide in easily into our undercounter light fixtures, they remain cool to the touch, they have a pleasing "warm" color (not as warm as the previous halogens, but def. not that dire garish "fluorescent" color of many LED's --).Our only complaint is that, while advertised as "dimmable", they do flicker on the low setting in our undercounter fixtures --. At the high setting, they are stable and fine - but much too bright (and these are the lowest intensity that we could find --!); but when we switch the setting to "low", they have a distinct, fast, annoying flicker, or "pulse". But we have decided to live with it --.Perhaps "dimmable" just doesn't apply to this type of fixture --.
