If your vehicle is banging into gear when put in P,D, or R, check your shift cable where it meets the transmission! The grommet on my wife’s 2014 vw Passat was broken , and this fixed it within 15 minutes. Anyone with a couple hand tools can replace this. Best of all, it’ll save you several hundred dollars! Replaced and now the car goes into the desired gear smooth as butter. 😎

Not made to last
Failed after no more than 20,000 km. That's basically...no durability at all.

Works for 2012 Jetta SE with modification
No matter how much I tried to push the bushing into the shift linkage connector hole it would not go through. I could get 3 sides for the bushing in but the diameter of the bushing lip was two wide. I used a pair of scissors and snipped off about 1/4 to 1/2 of the overhanging lip 1/4 of the diameter at a time and kept trying it. After reducing the lip about 3/4 way around, it finally pushed through the connector. I added the included grease onto the shift linkage ball. Then I pushed the connector with the installed bushing down hard with my left thumb onto the ball until I heard a snap and tadaaa, it works! It was very easy to snip a small portion of the edge with scissors and no other tools or disassembly was required for the Jetta 2012 SE. A tip, if the linkage cable does not line up with the ball or pin because it came loose when it was in gear or in neutral, use the yellow shift override button located under the shifter boot. I hope this helps someone out, good luck. I would have given it 5 stars if I wouldn't have had to modify it.
