Ok right off the bat this is an objective, unbiased opinion of the product. I think for what you get it’s pretty great, but I found some of the components need upgrading - namely the rest. I am an intermediate archer who mainly shoots compound bows. I had to order one of these to see what it was all about for myself. I set the bow up using all of the components provided but I did not shoot the provided arrows because they won’t work for the poundage I shoot at (62 lbs). So here are my impressions for what it’s worth. The bow itself is pretty great for 200.00 USD at the time of purchase. Draw length adjustment etc. was not too hard using the guide provided but mainly YouTube. I do find the cut-off allen wrench a little weird. Once I set my draw weight and length, and set the bow up/quick tune - I found the bow to be decently accurate, however the rest is a real weak point. At first I had random very high shots until I realized it was the culprit. I “upgraded” the rest with a normal whisker biscuit style rest that was more stable. I found the provided rest tended to move after a couple shots. Next the D-loop material was crap so that had to go. It frayed immediately so I just did not trust it, but quality D-loop material so cheap that it doesn’t really matter. The sight is just fine and works. Even removing the film from the batteries in the sight, I found the light was weak. Swapping out the batteries for fresh quality batteries brought the scope to life. All these things are sort-of minor to be honest. My bow had no issues with cam timing or lean. The strings came decently waxed. The adjustability of the bow and the short 30” axle-to-axle (ATA) make this a great bow for a young person that can grow with it, provided they or somebody else can set the bow up properly. Other things… I swapped both the peep and stabilizer for better ones I had laying around in my ever-growing archery junk collection. I also do not recommend the provided release. It works I guess… but I wouldn’t use it with the better ones I have. I gravitate toward a thumb release anyway. To sum it up the core of this kit is very good for the money.

The beauty of this product is that it has everything you need in the box to set it up and get shooting. The price point is also very good for what you get. A lot of reviewers describe this as "entry level" or "beginner" but I happen to think that this diminishes the quality and capability of what you are getting right out of the box. If you are in the market for a compound bow, don't want to spend an arm and a leg, and you are going to be using it for everyday target shooting or hunting, this product is perfectly suitable for those endeavors. Unless you are a competitive archer or such, this should be sufficient for the vast majority of people. The Good: . Price is reasonable . Build quality is good - it doesn't feel like a toy or super cheap . It has everything you need to get loosing off, right out of the box The Neutral . Some of the accessories are not necessarily the best but this comes down to personal preference. I ordered the following per my personal needs: - a different arrow rest/whisker biscuit. - 12 extra arrows and some hunting arrow heads. - A range finder to aid with sighting in - A cheap arrow quiver - A 4 finger release to replace the wrist release that it comes with. The Needs Improvement . I didn't think much of the included instructions, and the online instructions were identical with no more detail. You really need to do your own googling and Youtube if you need instructions or a guide to tuning the bow and installing accessories. They do provide instructions on increasing the draw weight and changing the draw length, but that's about it. You're on your own for installing accessories, sighting in the sight, and fine tuning. So be aware, this is not a toy and does require some research for beginners with compound bows or bows generally, or adult supervision for teens/children. Overall I am very satisfied.

Let me start off by saying I am absolutely not an expert archer. I was already familiar with bows and shooting fundamentals prior to my purchase, but this is the first bow I’ve actually ever owned / fired. After reading and watching several reviews on this set and similar sets, I decided to go with this one due to its popularity and overall positive feedback. I received mine about a month ago, but waited until I fired it a few times to leave a review. For anyone on the fence about buying this, I’m going to break down my full experience as a novice to archery, and how I feel about each accessory that comes with this set. I’ll also leave a TL;DR summary at the bottom. Bow: First and foremost, the bow. Being my first bow, I’m not 100% sure what to look for. However, it looks exactly like any other compound bow you’d find on the market, and was extremely easy to set up and adjust. All it takes is a few Allen keys (which are included) to mount the sight and rest. These Allen keys are also used to adjust draw length and draw weight to your liking. To date, I’ve fired about 150-200 arrows out of this thing, and the bow itself hasn’t shown any signs of failing anytime soon. No cracks, no fraying strings / cables, no sticking cams, etc. They’ve really put a lot of effort into making this bow affordable, yet comparable to high end bows. Sight: The included sight is really nice. Has a level on the bottom and a blue light attached to it that you twist to turn on / off. Even without the light, the pins are highly visible and glow at dusk with a heavy overcast. The whole sight is highly adjustable with the included Allen keys. You can adjust both horizontally and vertically, and even adjust each pin individually. No complaints with the sight. Arrow Rest: This is one I had a big issue with, and had to reach out to Sanlida for. During my first day of firing, I shot about 50 arrows to practice / zero in. No matter how much I tried, I could not hit consistently on target. And then I realized that the whiskers on the bottom of the rest had already started breaking and stopped supporting my arrows. Not only was it knocking arrows off course, but it was making contact with the fletchings each time, and began to rip them off. I ended up losing 8 of the 12 arrows due to not knowing where they landed, and the other 4 that I was able to retrieve have had their fletchings ripped off entirely. I reached out to Sanlida and provided the same pictures posted in this review. They responded very quickly and gave me a $20 refund, which I used to buy a cheap drop-away rest. Equipped with the new rest, my shots are now firing true as seen in the photos. So, I would strongly recommend that you buy a different rest to put on your Sanlida bow before taking it out on the range. Arrows: As mentioned above, the fletchings on the included arrows ripped off after just one session. I only have 4 of the arrows left, and they’ve all lost their fletchings. The tips also come loose after every single shot, which is really annoying. One of the reviews I watched on YouTube prior to buying my bow recommended that I purchase different arrows, so I’m glad I did and saved myself the time. Release Aid: I’m still not sure if I wear this thing the way it was intended to be worn or not, but it does its job. I’ve cinched the strap down as far as it can go, but I still find myself straining a bit to reach the trigger. Maybe I’m just wearing it wrong, but there are so many different styles to these release aids, I’m not sure which way is right. I haven’t had any issues with it releasing when pulling the trigger though. Quiver: I watched a tutorial on YouTube for setting up and installing the quiver. Seems to work well, but I personally don’t use it. So far, I’ve just been setting my arrows on a table and grabbing from there, but I can see the quiver being useful for hunting. Bow Stand: It’s not incredibly stable, but it works if you need to temporarily stand your bow up. It’s a simple spring-loaded piece of plastic that clamps to the bottom limb of your bow. Arrow Puller: Comes with a bright orange rubber thingy that’s labeled as an “arrow puller”. I haven’t used it in the field, but I assume it’s to make it easier to pull arrows out of the quiver. I tried this while setting my bow up for the first time, and it works this way, but I don’t think it’s really practical or at all necessary. Carrying Bag: The carrying bag is nice. Has Velcro straps to secure each accessory and a divider in the middle to separate the bow from the accessories. Small zipper pocket that I’m using to store the manual and Allen keys in. The only issue I have with mine is that the snap buttons on the divider don’t snap. Not a huge deal. Conclusion (TL;DR): For the amount of money they are asking for compared to the costs of other bows, this is an absolute steal in my opinion. Yes, there are some quality control issues with some of the included accessories, but the bow itself is fantastic! Sanlida’s customer service was also easy to work with. While I do recommend buying a different arrow rest and arrows before taking this out to the range, you really can’t beat the quality of this bow for the price.

The Sanlida Dragon X8 is without a doubt the absolute BEST compound bow value for ANY archer - beginner or pro - and I've been both a target and hunting archer for 71 years. The bow itself is at the core of its price point value. That it's bowstring is already set up with a "D" loop and peep sight is much added value for a beginner to compound archery that doesn't have access to a bow press. This alone is huge as most "high end" brand name compound bows offer neither. If a bow press and knowledge aren't handy, then the bow owner will incur an added expense to have the bow set up at an archery shop. That a replacement DF'97 bowstring costs less than $35 is amazing! The bowstring and cables can be changed WITHOUT a bow press, by completely backing off the limb bolts. The use of a portable bow press will just make that job faster and without having to reset the limb weight back when done. The sight is quite functional and does not need to be replaced. The whisker style 3 point arrow rest is also excellent just as it is. The finger release aid is functional and very good for a starting archer, as are the supplied arrows (they are Great for a new archer but they are way too heavy, stiff, and out of round for real accuracy; no problem for a beginner!). The stabilizer is quite functional. Whether or not to use the bow sling is personal - I and most other archers will not need one. Most seasoned archers will modify their bow kit and I've made some necessary changes for vastly increased accuracy. I installed a QAD Ultra Hunter drop away arrow rest, for complete fletching clearance. I use Cross-X carbon arrows fletched with Spin Wings, and a B3 Exit Pro thumb release aid. The bow handle has been wrapped with medical compression tape to both insulate for warmth and added tackiness for gripping. The supplied 27" draw length was increased to 29" and the peak weight of the bow was increased to 52lbs. I also changed the sight to one I already had, but honestly that was not necessary! If you're thinking about dabbling in cam bows, THIS is THE one to get - fantastic value and performance!

My buddy gave me his old bow because I . I was going to look for replacement parts, but because of the bow's age, that ended up being an ordeal. So, I started searching around for a solid entry level bow that wouldn't break the bank if I ended up not being a fan of archery in the long run. I wanted something adjustable because I had no idea what my draw length would be. So far, after 300+ shots, this bow has been amazing. UPGRADE YOUR ARROW REST. They are relatively inexpensive unless you want a fall away rest. I went with the trophy ridge v Max which I love, after trying out the truglo whisker biscuit which was fine. The sight is solid and it has 5 posts. It came with a light, but I'm in WA, so those are illegal to use while hunting here. Get yourself a decent set of arrows if you plan on maxing out the draw weight, as the arrows that come with the bow are not stiff at all, and will skew your accuracy while sighting in. I upgraded the stabilizer as well, so I have no data on the one it came with. I compared the bow noise to my buddy's $700+ Hoyt, and even he was surprised by how quiet it was. Draw is super smooth, and felt solid at the max weight which came out to about 68lbs at my draw length. Maybe do something about the grip, like grip tape or something because there's an uncomfortable edge that may impact your hand webbing (I put Paracord on it because it wasn't very comfortable for more than a few shots, but that has definitely fixed the problem) All in all, I think this bow is super solid for the price, and I'm so glad I bought it. If you're not convinced, there are reviews on YouTube that say the same thing.

The bow was packaged nicely and came as described. After installing the sights and arrow rest. I went straight to practice with it. I was highly disappointed immediately. The bow couldn’t group arrows to save its life. We’re talking 2ft groups adjusted the sights and rest a few times. No change. Then tried quality arrows(Easton arrows $5 a piece) as the ones supplied are well cheap haha. Even with quality arrows the bow would still not group better than about 1.5 feet. With my ancient recurve I’ve had since high school I can group 4-5 inches. Please save your money for a few months and buy a quality bow. Next purchase is a Matthew’s go me.

The bow itself is really powerful and sturdy. The arrows and the arrow rest is really poor quality. After shooting three arrows agains a wooden target they all lost their tip while pulling them out. Once again, the bow is great, the arrows are toys. I would suggest buying the bow without the set accessories.
