Depressing...
I can sum this book up for you in a few sentences. A kidnapped virgin fighting off several men who attempt to rape her. The whole book is her being beaten and fighting off rape. Why would anyone find this sexy?

Dark Romance at its finest!!
Willow had a tough upbringing, but she’s met and married the man of her dreams. They are just beginning their honeymoon when the unthinkable happens. She is kidnapped. In comes Saint, one of her captors. She shouldn’t be attracted to him, and she shouldn’t feel the way she feels when he punishes her, but sometimes feelings don’t make sense. Saint was your typical guy, until his life got tangled up with that of a Russian mobster. He shouldn’t think about Willow as anymore than a job, but as the two are fighting, they are also falling. Saint is trying to break her, but Willow is done being the victim. When everything comes to a boiling point, can the two get what they want without someone dying? This is a dark romance with suspense and twists that will leaving you begging for more. This is my first-time reading Monica James; this book, I honestly don’t think I have enough words to describe how crazy good it is. It does leave you hanging at the end, which stinks, but that just makes me that much more excited for the next book to release. Monica took a book that has some pretty terrible things that happen and made it a book that I couldn’t put down. Even though there were some disturbing scenes, she writes them in such a way, that you can’t help but need to keep reading to find out what is going to happen next. This book is dark but also romantic and is jam packed with emotion. Trust me, this is a book that isn’t for the faint of heart, but if you read it you won’t be disappointed! I am so ready for book 2!

4.5 ANGEL AND SAINT STARS
We all know Monica James can write contemporary and new adult romance, but she took a u-turn with Bad Saint. When I heard her next book was going to be somewhat "dark", I was really intrigued. Monica has a way to melt my insides with all her hero. Even though Saint is Willows's captor, you fall for him. Stockholm syndrome here I come. (willingly) Those little snippet into Saints POV at the beginning of each chapter was not enough for me. I wanted so much more, but I think it was executed perfectly. You're given just a little morsel of goodness but not all of it. I felt like a kid in a candy store with only enough money for one piece of candy. You could feel it and taste it. All that goodness is right at your fingertips but you only get a taste and that's it. Oh how cruel Monica was to dangle that piece of candy right in front of our faces knowing we would want more. The undeniable connection between Willow and Saint was frustrating at times because they didn't give in to that attraction. They didn't let it take it's course. Walls were erected and feelings were pushed away. Nothing about the book seemed forced. Everything flowed seamlessly. Somehow I already knew this would end in a cliffhanger but I was SO excited to read this that I didn't care to be left hanging. BUT only because July is right around the corner. Hehehe. I'm SO glad I don't have to wait for months and months to continue Willow and Saint's story. I can't wait to see where this journey takes them.

A Kick Ass Heroine and a Worthy opponent
This book turned out to be so damn good and I'm all set to read the second, only to find out the 3rd doesn't come out until September! Rarely do I feel this way, but this series (so far) has been like getting someone hooked on crack!!!It's an awesome dark read and partially dark romance and it was a delight to stumble upon it. It all revolves around Willow, a 25 year old model from LA who, after a whirlwind 6 week courtship, marries the man of her dreams and goes on honeymoon to a private greek island. Literally upon their arrival, she is kidnapped by 3 masked men who rough up her husband, abduct her and set out to sea with her. All in masks and all speaking Russian. Willow comes to realise pretty quickly that not only has she been kidnapped but she's been targeted for sex trafficking to one of the most powerful crime lords in Russia but first her 3 captors have to get her there by sea first. One would think it would get boring with the whole book taking place on a yacht but the author slowly ramps up the tension and the action as she goes along until you're completely sucked in. Willow's main nemesis is Saint, the only 1 of the 3 who turns out to be an American, although fluent in Russian and definitely part of the whole ring. His constant pressure and tactics to break her and make her submit become a battle of wills. Because Willow is a kick ass heroine. This chick just refuses to go down without a fight, absolutely refuses. And so the push and pull between Saint and Willow keeps ratcheting up in tension until something's got to give.Saint is absolutely maddening. You hate him, then you soften, then you hate him even more, then you kind of like him and it's an endless merry-go-round. But so much is not what it seems, so much. This book is absolutely scrumptious to go into blind. But Holy Hell, where has this author been hiding???? If you're not affected by too many triggers and you like a little bit of mystery and suspense with your dark read then this is an awesome book to read. Loved it! So all the pretty stars in the night sky to this one!*****

Dark, deep and delicious!
📚 Bad Saint by @authormonicajames 📚Willow marries the handsome billionaire Drew and they set off to Greece for their honeymoon. Terrifyingly, Willow is kidnapped from their holiday terrace and taken to a boat to travel to her new "owner" - turns out she has been sold to the highest bidder. She is to submit to her captors, abide by their rules and obey. Little do they know that this Willow Shaw is not one to lay back and roll with the punches...she will swing a few of her own. In doing so, the consequences see that she ends up shipwrecked with the one captor that intrigued her with his green flecked eyes - eyes so deep it is hard to deny there is so much more to his intent. And Willow makes it her goal to find out what is hiding behind those eyes - regardless of the ramifications 📖📚 Monica James is new to me as an author and I really enjoyed the writing style. She is very unique and refreshing, with fantastic portrayal of both characters and events taking place. The plot was well thought out, deliciously dark and covered serious topics with many triggers for some readers. Very slow burn but with some steamy scenes, I have a feeling #2 will ramp up considering how well the scenes are written in this book. Looking forward to reading more from Monica!

Full of suspense and drama
This book! This book is amazing! I am utterly hooked on Saint and his angel. This book is the first in a trilogy by Monica James. It’s the first book of hers that I’ve read and I’m blown away. It’s a mature, detailed read, full of suspense and drama and angst and jeopardy.Saint is a complex character. You never know whether he’s a good man gone bad, or a bad man trying to be good. He’s so conflicted throughout the book.Willow, his angel, initially comes over as naïve and innocent, but soon channels her feisty, independent self and becomes quite the kick ass heroine. The trials and tribulations these characters go through will make your head spin, but remember, this is only part one. Whatever else does the author have in store for them?? I can’t even begin to guess, but I’m sticking around for the whole, unapologetic, wild ride that this series promises to be.

Loved
From the beginning of this book, to the end I absolutely loved it.Willow has been through so much she is so strong and wants to have a happily ever after. She thinks she finds it but that changes.Saint has so many demons, he has no soul. He has no regret when he captured Willow. He teaches her how he wants her to circum to her new life. But willow is stubborn and strong willed, she won’t bow down to a saint who is really a devil in disguise. Looking forward to book two.Who knows how this book will end?? But you must read this.
