WILEY Up the Organization: How to Stop the Corporation from Stifling People and Strangling Profits

Its a book that should be read and absorbed by every CEO. If they had, we wouldn't have had the scandalsinvolving the Post Office, Royal Mail, the Water companies and so many others. Sent copies to my friends, though most of them have common sense. Published in 1970 its still very relevant today.

I love how the writer critically think about business in general. Townsend is a truly leader.

I saw this book referenced and recommended in an article from HBR, and decided to give it a go. I've now read the introduction and the first few sections, and although a lot of the contents seem rather self-evident, I enjoy the style of the writing, the briefness of each section, and how straight to the point Townsend manages to be, despite the relatively heavy subject matter.

Excellent book. Highly recommend to Execs.
