I’ve already found my soulmate, but I love Denise Gilmore’s other work, so I wanted to read this book too! Gilmore does not disappoint with this book! She kicks it off with a bang with a section called “Longing.” Every single woman has felt this at one point or another, and for some, this is a constant, every day emotion. I remember those times, and know others still experiencing it! The first two verses, Psalm 38:9 and Proverbs 13:12, hit the nail on the head regarding this emotion! There definitely needs to be some editing done to this book, but Gilmore makes you feel like she knows EXACTLY what you’re going through, and in my opinion, that’s the best kind of person to take advice from. She writes from a place of understanding, which makes this a very practical book to help apply patience and peace in a time that can be very difficult for a woman’s heart! She provides killer verses that specifically apply to the frustration and anguish of waiting for a soulmate, verses of sympathy as well as reminders of God’s promises. There are prayers for yourself, for your future husband, your mother- and father-in-law, and your in-law siblings. I highly recommend using this book to soothe your single soul and prepare for who God has for you!

The book is divided into sections and then days so you can be organized in the daily prayers while focusing on a topic. It’s a wide range of chapters including life-long companionship, living by faith and reputation for Holiness. There are prayers for you, your future husband but also your future father and mother-in-law. Each day starts with a quick proverb, reflection, prayer, and finally a blessing. It’s a good way to start or day or end the night with a quick prayer. The prayers help your relationship with God as you focus on bettering yourself before and while you meet your future soulmate. Each day is something new to work on as it builds the foundations for growth in your self and with God. If you’re looking for a good prayer book as a woman then you should check this out.
