First, you cannot go wrong with any item made by Barilla. This pasta is the best. I recently enjoyed this for the first time about a month ago. I was pleased at the flavor, easy to eat with a fork, holds sauces well and a better choice than regular spaghetti noodles. Angel Hair pasta will always be my number one favorite pasta but, Cellentani/Cavatappi Pasta will be my second favorite due to the versatility. This pasta holds up well in hot and cold dishes.

I Love Barilla. Cellentani Is Perfect For Making The Corner Bakery Cafe's Pesto Cavatappi
Barilla brand pasta is my go-to and I am never disappointed. I always have a box in the pantry as it can be stored for a long time and it is handy to have something that can easily be whipped up. It is just as good for a quick bite or an elaborate meal.I specifically bought the Cellentani shaped pasta to make a dupe of my daughter's favorite pasta dish: the Corner Bakery Cafe's Pesto Cavatappi. It features these spiral shaped noodle tubes smothered in rich creamy pesto sauce. The thick creamy sauce really clings onto this shape of pasta.It's a hit every time.Barilla--if you are reading this. Please make this shape in Protein Plus!!!

A.K.A. cavatappi
This pasta is the same shape that other pasta companies and most recipes refer to as cavatappi. It tastes about the same as plain old elbow macaroni, but the shape is more festive because it's not as familiar to most people. You can use this pasta in any dish where you'd use macaroni. The walls of this pasta are somewhat thick and have little grooves. It holds up well in thick sauces and in dishes with chunks of meat and veggies. It's great in a casserole with big cubes of beef or chicken. Honestly, I don't notice any difference between Barilla quality and pasta made by other companies. I buy this or DeCecco's cavatappi interchangeably.

We like different shapes for our pasta dishes. This adds a bit of fun and variety, and the shapes are easier and neater to eat than the long noodles. The Barilla Cellantani are corkscrew shape, and hold more of your sauce and toppings.

Fun shape!
I thought I'd had every shape of pasta, but I hadn't had these before. Taste is great of course, but the shape was fun as well. Will definitely buy again!
