It's a small world
Let me get the pros out of the way first. What a great little model kit. Extremely well detailed and at a workable small scale that produces a fine scale model when completed. At 28cm in length the model is perfect for being displayed in an acrylic case for a 1/18th scale car model. The decal sheet included in the box really adds extra detail that works well. However, the decal sheet is where I begin with the cons. While most of the decals stayed put when I started to add a coat of matt lacquer to bring everything together after completion, the decals of the two-tone waterline gave me plenty of grief as the decals would not stay in place, lifting all the time until I revered to pasting them down using the same matt lacquer. Another con is that the kits instructions do not include the bridge window decal. The decal is on the decal sheet but not listed in the instructions so for those who may not be at all family with the vessel will probably wonder as to why they have 3x decals left over. The last con is towards the condition of the "new" kit purchased directly through Amazon. The box had been put into a plastic Amazon bag (not a box) and when I opened up the bag the kits box was badly crushed. If this had been a gift for someone I would not have been at all pleased. Thankfully the contents were intact and the build was something for myself.

A Wopper
I am collecting the 1:1200 commercial series by revell as i think they will look nice in a case. This is the third last as two new releases will come out in September. When i got the package i could not believe how big the model was. This model is nearly 1ft long. Revell even had to do a larger box for this model. As you would expect for a recent release, the detail is crisp and when build gives a good representation of the ship. I have built the 1:700 kit and although following in the same pattern, there are differences. I could not believe the price of this model for such size. The QE2 was more expensive in this scale. The decals are crisp and the instructions are good even though i did not use them.As an amateur but experienced modeler, there are down sides although i might be just picky. There is a large mold hole in the bottom of the hull, the tennis courts have been raised and the pool lights are far to big for scale. There is no transparent plastic for the upper areas of the ship which i would expect due to the size of the model.Overall this fits in very well with the 1:1200 range by revell and is an eye catcher on the shelf. I would reiterate that this is not a model for children under 10 like all the 1:1200 range and even with that due its small size would recommend an adult with painting experience for the desired effect to help. I would also like to reiterate, this is not a toy but a display piece.Happy modeling, 5 out of 5.
