Prince: Stories from the Purple Underground Hardcover – 8 September 2016

I love Prince. I loved Prince from his very first release "For You" which features the hit "Soft & Wet" as well as many other jewels. I just received my book in the mail. I love everything about it from the cover to the content. Being a radio personality, this book is filled with a wealth of information that will leave you emotional, inspired and breathless after reading the paragraphs in this book from individuals who were blessed with the opportunity to hang in is space at some point in time is his life. The music Prince created is the sound track of my life which I will forever listen to non stop! This is a well written book from a different perspective. The perspective of those who lived the dream with our "PRINCE"... Bravo! Well written & well done! This book is a must have for your collection!

UKの出版社によるプリンス追悼本ですが、とてもしっかりしたハードカバーの装丁なのに約2700円とリーズナブルでもあり、オススメです。内容は、時系列でデビューからのプリンスを追った写真集+その時代時代で関係したバンドメンバーやスタッフの回想記、インタビューが添えられているもので、著者のプリンス愛も溢れていて読み応えもあり、とても興味深かったです。なかでも、2016/11月にワーナーからリリースされるという、ベストアルバムに収録予定の未発表曲1曲が当時のスタッフに語られている箇所もあり(とても美しい曲らしく、当時レコード会社からのリリース要望が非常に高かったものの、プリンスが拒んでいたそう)、タイムリーでもありました。

Do not look at this book as a bio of some sorts. This is a chronological collection of "Short Stories" from those who were there at the time. Each heavy glossy page has a short story accompanied by a picture or photo. The book has some interesting first hand background info on some of those song and albums we grew to love, and even ones we have never heard but have heard about. I thought I knew everything there is to know about the Purple one. This book proved me wrong.

If like me you're a huge Prince fan, this is a must for your collection. It's a nice, large hardback full of pictures of Prince and his bands over the years, accompanied by stories and anecdotes from those who were with him along the way. Made me smile, laugh, cry, and miss the guy even more. Really, really enjoyable.

Excellent book written For the Fans. Fun memories from band mates and friends! No need for the author to write Long Winded paragraphs to rehash everything leaving room for great interesting details! Lots of Wonderful photographs, and they Match the era of each entery. It's also chronologically written. I'm Very happy with this book and being a Huge fan who doesn't need to reread Everything ever written, this is a Beautiful breath of fresh air. Highly Recommended to Everyone in the Purple Army.
