The last 100 pages were Intense
I’ve read all of David Weber’s Honorverse novels and anthologies. This book was seriously captivating and thrilling at the end. Can’t wait to read the sequel.

Good Read
To me this starts off as a weird mash-up of several of Weber's universes, but eventually it shakes out into it's own thing. Probably.

Another anticipation serie from David Weber and Richard Fox. I really enjoyed reading this book 1 and look forward to book 2 and so on 🙏🏾I started reading anticipation in the 60s reading Jules Verne from whom I read most of the books and in my opinion, David Weber is the next best author in this category. I am still looking out for the followings in the Multiverse and Safehold series.Live Long and continue Prospering Sir 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Where is book 2!!!
The start of the Murphy Empire. I followed the March series and Furies Born. Many years in the making. All I can say is WOW.. I have been trying to piece the story together for years. This is the beginning, not the end. Great build up, now let's get the series started.

You can see a lot of his other books in here…
Great read and interesting story. I wonder how many of his other books everyone else might see. I see a little of “Off Basilisk Station” in the whole” make due with what you got” subplot with the old launchers and the missile pods. Naming a ship class after the alien race in “The Empire of Man” series (Marduk).the storyline around the son had the same feel to it as the plot in “Empire” as well. Even with all this it still felt fresh and I appreciate him coming up with a different propulsion system to make the battles a little different than “Harrington”. I almost forgot the “Hauptmann” coils. Can’t wait for book 2!

An excellent start to a new series.
I have long felt that David Weber could not write a bad book if he tried. Anytime I see his name on the cover of a novel, I have to try it out. I was not familiar with Richard Fox, but again, it's a David Weber novel. Plus, I did enjoy the other novel in the universe, In Fury Born. As a matter of fact, I just reread it before starting this book, to prepare myself.First of all, without spoilers, reading In Fury Born again does not help a lot with the book. The time period is set long before the events described in that novel. So, this does work as a standalone novel. However, it did give me a starting point and I have an idea where they are taking this series.Second, it's excellent space opera, what we have come to expect from Mr. Weber. I have also downloaded Mr. Fox's first novel in his original series, since his collaboration with Mr. Weber works so well in this novel. Finally, this was an excellent way to spend the afternoon, in front of a warm fireplace with an excellent novel in your hand. Yes, there are parts that are slower than other parts, but nothing that truly detracts from my through enjoyment of this book. I am looking forward to the next novel in this series!

Excellent story similar to the Honor Harrington series but better
Just finished and already looking forward to the next book. While similar to the Honor Harrington series, this time we have a brave male protagonist who is trying to challenge the super-rich control of his society and the brutal insensitivity of those people in prolonging a war between human societies for their own benefit (fits similar concerns today). Add in secret alien interference to encourage the self destruction of humanity, and you have a fascinating space opera. Well done David Weber and Richard Fox. Keep writing!

Spannend, liest sich in einem Stück.
Technische SF ist nicht meine bevorzugte Lektüre. Hier warte ich erwartungsvoll auf den zweiten Teil. Amazon kindle macht es hierbei nicht leicht.

Darn it, give me the next book now
Bravo and about what I expect from any book that includes David Weber's name.Looks like I will be checking out Richard Fox's other work.A bit skipable in a few of the overly wordy tech sections ( expected when David is involved) but an otherwise enjoyable read and I cannot wait for the next book.Is the path this series is setting out on a little predictable, yes but it is still very satisfying.I am sure fans of David's work will enjoy it and either already are or will become fans of Richard's work too.
