Large Bolt Cut

This is a very overly priced tool that was outperformed by a pair of Pittsburgh forge pair bought at Harbor Freight Tool for $29.99. I have made numerous calls to customer service for a replacement that should be given no questions asked. I believe in buying very good quality tools for life, but will not be purchasing anything else from this company. They ask a premium price for junk. Please look at the damage that was done by cutting 1/4inch grade 70 chain.

Not sure if this is only for use on soft metals but first lock I tried to cut and it flattened the clamping blades on the end. Knipex is supposed to be first class and I am sure most of their tools are but if you are looking for bolt cutters go with something cheaper.

I originally planned on purchasing an American-made brand. But after doing some research, I found out that it was actually made overseas. It's sad when American companies play on their American-made past, and are vague or misleading about the current origin of their products.Of course I could have spent less, and bought a Chinese-made brand at Home Depot or Lowe's. No thanks. After using this German made tool just once, I have no regrets having spent the extra money to buy something that's well made. I've used it several times. After cutting bolts, and an old box springs and mattress set, the cutting edges show no sign of wear.

Don't waste your time buying the junk Chinese bolt cutters on the market that are ruined the first time you try to cut something. These are German made, and Germans are known for fine quality control. You can't go wrong buying Knipex. Very nice bolt cutters.

I lost my previous bolt cutters so needed a new pair. Upon reading the reviews, I decided to go with this pair even though it was more expensive than I wanted to spend. This pair of bolt cutters works AMAZINGLY well. I used it to cut up a mattress to make it small enough to fit into my regular trash container and it cut through each and every piece of metal as though it was a hot knife through butter. My body is old and worn out so I was expecting some work to get the job done, but it was EASY! So in my opinion, it is well worth the money. (Now if I can keep track of it...)

We used to always use Rigid brand cutters , well now they are made in china! For about $10 more than the model we were using you can get a KNIPEX, made in Germany! How can it only be a $10 difference between Knipex Germany and CHINA? Don't get hosed, get these instead.
