Benevolent Nourishment Alcohol and Gluten-Free Liquid Iodine Potassium Drops with 2X Absorption (Large,2oz Bottle)- 1300 Servings

Every summer I would feel depressed, tired, sleepy, no energy, not wanting to do anything and aching in my bones. My body was always searching for something and I felt like I was not getting enough of some nutrients when I ate. Also, throughout my five pregnancies my iodine levels were always on the border and one time I had to take medicine for it. This year my doctor told me to start taking iodine, because my thyroid levels were way extreme: TSH was 10.760 - High and T4 0.65 - Low, which is suggestive of hypothyroidism. It fit what I was looking for and in addition offered a small bonus. Because of the form that it comes in, the liquid form, it gets absorbed by the body faster and better. My doctor also told me to take 150 mcg per day and one drop of Benevolent Liquid Iodine does just that! And the whole little 2 fl oz bottle can last me for more than one year! I was amazed at the results. Just one single little sweet tasting drop can make such a big difference! Within days all my depression, tiredness, and aching was gone. I am very happy with the results! What made me even happier was seeing my improved blood test results. Five and a half weeks after I started taking Benevolent Liquid Iodine, I took a blood test and now my TSH numbers are: 4.570. That’s a big drop from 10.760! It is still high and on the boarder - the highest limit is 4.500, but it is much improved! My T4 is 1.03 and is now within the limits! I am definitely coming back to get more next year, unless Benevolent restores my iodine levels completely!

I don't use iodized salt any longer as it seems that regular table salt is over-processed. Over-processed table salt may be ruining human health, but that's just something to think about when/if you are faced with high blood pressure. Since my conversion to less-processed salts (kosher, sea, Himalayan, black, etc..) it was a matter of time before the results showed up in my lab work. I was getting lab readings suggesting that my thyroid was functioning below normal limits. Of course, the docs recommended the meds and I refused. I did a lot of research based off of my lab reports and determined that I may not be getting enough Iodine due to lifestyle change. So, I took a chance and I bought this particular product and began using it immediately on a daily basis. I began to use a Selenium supplement along with it as a lot of the research often mentioned it to be taken in addition to the Iodine supplement. I've had two or three full lab workups since I started this product and they all showed that my thyroid is functioning properly again. I'm always going to keep this product on my shelf because it seems to work. Within 5 - 6 months, my thyroid was back to normal. Was it a fluke? I doubt it. Since using this product I have noticed that my body seems to function a whole lot better. A lot of people don't really know how important the thyroid is, and Iodine plays a role in its proper function. I see better results when I exercise now and I just feel better overall. As long as this product is available, I'll keep ordering it as needed.

This is the type of product you want if you are looking for a nutritional supplement. The product is stated to contain no free iodine, only a low concentration of potassium iodide. The recommended dose is 1 drop, which gives you the RDA recommended 150 mcg. It would nice if this included an actual component analysis. I did some informal testing and found that it does indeed contain a low concentration of iodide ions (hydrogen peroxide test) and no free iodine (starch test). I tested for glycerin and found it to be present, as listed in the ingredients. Flame test confirms potassium is present. I did not test for anything else, but this seems to indicate that the product is as described. One drop in about 6 oz of water has no discernable taste.

The taste is better than others. It is easy to dispense. The only dislike is alittle expensive.
