Lovely story of friendship, language, and the resourcefulness of children
Cousins Forever is a wonderful children’s book about friendship and language. It features beautiful watercolor artwork (I am partial to watercolor) and introduces a wonderful idea—sharing the words for the same object in different languages. In fact, the author even provides an opportunity for other children worldwide to participate in this activity.I like that kids are invited to join in. I like the artwork, and learning that there are more than 7000 languages worldwide. I do wish there had been a little more, as I would have enjoyed learning some new foreign words. But I understand why she wouldn’t do that. With versions in multiple languages, the author has written a book that works regardless of geography. We can only speculate on where the two cousins live, or what their parents’ native languages are. And, ultimately, it doesn’t really matter.

Nice story to read to my granddaughter
I was looking for bilingual books in French and English to help me learn French grammar before a trip to Paris. I was happy to find this book because it was something I can read to my 3 year old granddaughter. She will most likely learn this new language faster and can teach me. The illustrations are also very aesthetic and enhance the story well.

Beautiful
Two look-alike cousins are close to each other. However, one of them moves far away. The two cousins experience different climates, wildlife, and more. Luckily, they can still communicate via video calls.I thought this was beautiful. It teaches us how we can still stay connected, even when far away.

Beautiful
This is a beautifully illustrated book that can help broach the French language for young children who read it. Very well done.

Good book with beautiful illustrations!
This book does a nice job of capturing a child's longing for someone close who has moved far away. The watercolor illustrations are idyllic and surreal, and do a great job accompanying the mood of the story. The word swap game is a fun idea for kids who want to expand their linguistic boundaries!

Sweet story with great illustrations
I thought this book was cute and plan to read it to my son later. The illustrations are great! The only negative I might have is there are a couple big words in it that I'm not sure young children would know. The age group that it's directed at is a bit confusing to me.

Charming Book
Wonderfully illustrated, this is a charming book that seems perfect for children learning to be bilingual in English and French. Of course it's also good for kids who only want to read one of the languages, as both are provided.

Very engaging story
Well-written for kids and simple, yet engaging to keep their attention. I love that the author invites kids and parents to participate in the game shared in the story! Wonderful.

Beautiful story and helps with bilingual learning.
What a lovely story about 2 close cousins who live in different countries! It helps children understand that distance doesn't mean they have to lose contact, and, especially these days, technology can help us keep in touch but also allow us to experience new things. The word swap is a great idea.We absolutely love that both languages are on each page. A great tool for any family raising their children in a bilingual household or who wish to introduce a new language. Clearly, a lot of effort has gone in to assuring the translations are accurate and correct, which is so lovely to see.Teachers will likely find this really handy in classrooms for early year students too.I really hope to see more books in a similar style from this author and the artist. Such a great, innovative collaboration.

Brilliant idea ....
Brilliant idea I thought, I live in france, family in the UK, little niece picking up French words from books I have bought and sent .... but this does not fit the bill not a child's book really and all a bit complicated, trying to be too many ideas in one book. I will send it over, but think the Mr. Men books in french I have to send and will match the English language favourites will be better and the lovely sticker books also found here. Sorry but keep trying.
