Queen Takes Rose (Wicked Villains Book 6)

Surprising Win
The honest truth is that I desire Malone with a fervor I’ve never felt before. She’s a fire in my blood, and I used to be able to convince myself that it’s purely rage, but now I have to admit that it’s more nuanced than that. I hate her. I want her. A small, unforgivable part of me even admires her for the sheer strength and ruthlessness she exhibits.I dreaded reading this because I have been so frustrated with the world building and repetition in this series. This last sapphic installment was exactly what this series needed, and I was pleasantly surprised!I loved both of the characters and I really felt like I could be either of them. All of the sex scenes were great, and the romance is so vivid, I never doubted the authenticity of it. I liked the plot, and while I was confused a little since I have not read the Sabine Valley books yet, I felt like the stakes were high in a perfect way.Aurora's grief was written very well, and I connected to a loss that I just happened to have myself. I don't cry easily, but Aurora almost brought me to tears when trying to reconcile who her mom was to everyone else.

Enemies to lovers and kink, oh my!
Well maybe not exactly enemies, at least not on the Queen’s side. The connection through bdsm and then bleeding out into other areas was well done. Even as the inner monologues attempted to keep up the animosity, the true feelings poked and bled until they were all over the place in a wonderfully written story. I have not read the other stories, as I prefer sapphic, but loved the cast of characters and the world building (or already built?) and the mythology.

End of the series
Found a minor misprint, but book was great overall. Woman/Woman love, not as spicy as previous books.

a spicy FF romance
The smut is fire! If you like heavy smutty reads than this book is great. I had a hard time relating to the characters in a love story fashion. There's a lot of heat, angst, and spice, but not that much relationship building. It was a good easy spicy read, and I love the LGBTQIA+ representation! The audiobook was good as well! I love this world.

Great end to the series
A great end to the series! Malone and Aurora have had some enmity between them all this time and I was so ready to learn more and see how they’d go from enemies to lovers. Except…this is one-sided enemies to lovers, as Malone doesn’t hate Aurora. She just doesn’t want to be distracted by her and thinks a two week assignation will give them a chance to work out their chemistry and then move on. LOL. Meanwhile, Aurora thinks this will be her big chance at revenge and decides she’s finally going to kill Malone.I didn’t fully buy Aurora’s reason for revenge and I couldn’t understand how on earth she would not have known what her mother was really like all this time. And that’s after trying to buy into the idea that they would have kept her mother on life support for 20 years…that is very not normal and should not have happened. Aurora was also quite different in characterization compared to previously in the series. She's not sunshiney at all here and Malone makes it sound like she wants the real Aurora and that the sunshine was just a facade but I'm not sure. People can be more than they appear, yes, but I didn't see the arc or growth to prove that was the case. But aside from that, it was fun to watch Malone and Aurora go from being at each other’s throats to going at it. Malone is an impressive Domme and I loved seeing how she planned their scenes and gave Aurora what she needed. They’ll make a great team and I can see Aurora being a great asset for Malone as she gets a chance to see what else she can do, beyond being a Club submissive.I also loved Malone’s cat Rogue. A real scene stealer with an attitude!Note: Aurora’s representation as a Person of Color is underdeveloped. I’m not sure what her race or ethnicity is. She’s described as having light brown skin and toward the end of the book, we’re told her mother was Black. No details about her father. Robert takes pain to mention the race of everyone else in the book, which I appreciate. But it seems like a misstep to not do the same with a main character.CW: death of mother, mother taken off of life support after 20 years in a coma, grief, gendered insult, alcohol, family planning discussion, past maternal abandonment (Aurora was raised by her grandmother)Disclosure: I'm friendly with the author online.

Women love women.
This book was…scrumptious? Daring? Darling? Beautiful. Katee Robert does no wrong in my opinion so this books peak for me. The tropes were perfect for the story and the drama was just enough to keep you interested. I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a sapphic love story.

Read it.
Fantastic read. I’m not into fantasy but it still worked for me. I enjoy the tension with Malone and the discovery of what really happened with Aurora’s mom and Malone. Greaaat spice too btw.

great book but…
I found myself reading more of the same from the previous books. I should have jumped into another book and picked this one up after (I had previously crushed the first five books in record time). Still great characters and a sexy build of yummy tension.

Super steamy and sweeter than I thought
This book goes into the structured kink side of things a little more than I usually go for but I can't resist an enemies to lovers wlw story so I gave it a go.No regrets! Both FMCs were the perfect measure of hard and soft and the ending chapters were *chefs kiss*

Perfection
I loved this book so much. A spicy Sleeping Beauty retelling where Maleficent gets the girl! This was such a good sapphic romance! I went into this thinking the plot of this book was going to be something completely different to what it actually turned out to be! And I was pleasantly surprised, i thorough enjoyed the twists and turns that ran throughout. Whilst also watching this beautiful love story of enemies realising their feelings for each other! I adore these two with my entire heart!I knew I loved Aurora from the previous books in the series, and I have loved seeing her character progression throughout the books, finally reaching its peak in Queen Takes Rose. She is incredibly strong, confident and easily loveable! Then you have Malone, who has always come across as being a bit of a mystery. Learning about her and where she comes from, whilst also seeing her open up and fall in love was beautiful!Let’s not forget about the spice, Katee Robert just knows how to do it and this book completely lives up to the rest of the series in that department! So so incredibly hot!
