Insight into a Creative Songwriter
This was a good documentary especially if you are already a Bruce Cockburn fan. Insightful interviews and lots of live music.

This is a great documentary for fans
This is a great documentary for fans; i.e. it "preaches to the choir" somewhat, so those new to Bruce may feel - after watching this - that he must walk on water. And while I believe he's the greatest singer/songwriter/guitar-player out there, it would still be nice to have a more neutral approach to his work and history. In line with that, it would also be nice to have a little longer running time, as this is just over an hour. Still, I expect it will be fairly regular watching material for me, so take my critique for what it's worth....

I expected a little more..
The video runs just over an hour and consists of mostly performance footage - most you can see on YouTube. Some interviews with Bruce but nothing much. The only emotional connection was when he talked about his young daughter wanting to play her MickeyMouse guitar along with him, and that he talked in his sleep "it's a trap", funny.

Love Bruce, Love This!
This is the most comprehensive video documentary out there about Bruce Cockburn's music; and the passion and integrity he brings to the music and the positive and influential way he lives his life. A "must have" for true fans, and a great introduction to one of the finest musicians and human beings on the scene for the past 40 years.

Bruce himself deserves better
The footage is not very professional and limited. Bruce is great, but he deserves a better higher quality production than this. Even so I enjoyed Bruce and his performances and interviews and behind the scenes footage.

Very enjoyable hour with Bruce
There is not a lot out there beyond Bruce's albums so when I saw this I had to have it .ive seen him live twice in 1987 and this past march and I really enjoy anything he does . I always feel better after hearing him sing play guitar or just talk

Man on a mission
The dock was insightful and informative. It told me a lot that I did not know about Bruce and his music.

A bit longer would have been good
Well, this could have been longer and gone into a bit more depth, but it's still really interesting. I can imagine some people may be irritated by the fact that very few of the songs featured live are shown in their entirety, but I'm used to that in a documentary and don't mind it. Certainly if you're a fan, you should have it.

well worth it
many of his fine early compositions are performed showing his great skill as a musician / lyricist.never having seen him live, the dvd performances are the next best thing ... maybe better thing as you don't have to endure the crowds.thank you Mr. Cockburn for many decades of music that stands the test of time.his music resonates deep within and stirs the core. you have made a difference in this world sir... more than most.

I like it, my son loves it!
The difference in my response to whether "I like it" and "I love it" could have been made by including more footage of different concerts rather than just coming back continually to the one! That's one opinion from a 64 year old, but I can tell you that my son, a true Bruce Cockburn fan, age 39, did "love it" so I left the DVD for him. He loved that, too! (I had gotten it for Christmas and we were watching it at his house...)

Bruce Cockburn
Some great parts, some not great cinematography, and irrelevancies. Would be better with more Bruce Cockburn live concert footage!Very interesting.
