Not great
I haven't really enjoyed using this soap (doesn't actually have any soap in it but for the purpose of the review I'll be calling it soap), and it honestly hasn't done much for my skin. I've not noticed any difference at all really, I get occasional spots on my chin around my menstrual cycle which have calmed down but that's been the only difference.I don't like the shape of the soap, it's quite awkward to hold when it's wet.The price is okay (£6 at time of review) but a tad expensive for a small bar of soap. However, I can see it lasting quite a while so this may be okay. Not a fan of the scent, it is a bit plain and doesn't leave you feeling like you've had a good wash after. It could do with some essential oils to make it slightly scented, this would make it more appealing. The "exfoliating" lines in the bar are not brilliant, I found rubbing my face with the bar then using my fingers to massage small circles worked much better.I do like the eco friendly aspect of this, the packaging is plastic free and the soap itself contains no nasties, so it gets points for that.Over all I'm not thrilled with this, I don't like using soap on my face as it usually dries me out and I have to use lots of moisturiser to avoid getting bad dry skin. This has has a similar effect, I think I'll go back to using just water! I don't think I would recommend this and won't be buying another when this runs out.

So far so good
I haven't used this soap long enough to comment on how it will affect my skin long-term but on its short-term effects I can not complain at all. This soap is very easy to handle and use. It is very ergonomic in its design and it is scented very nicely. Though it is infused with charcoal it smells of lavender and is quite lovely. All that is needed is to wet it under the tap, lather it in your hands, and then apply it to your face in circular motions. I would say use your hands rather than using the bar directly- just for avoiding cross-contamination.After the first use, my skin felt very much softer, and a very clean/refreshed feeling. It does take makeup off very easily, though I can not attest to waterproof makeup. Thanks to the tea tree oil in it, the soap does lessen any red spots on your face and does not leave your skin dry feeling. There is a tight feeling to your skin, but I would put that to the cleaning compounds in it and nothing more. This soap is very eco-friendly and there is no plastic involved. It is not a massive bar of soap, but I do see this going for a long time as not much is needed in a single-use. It is a little pricier than normal soaps but again, I put that down to the environmentally friendly makeup of the soap.

Good ethical facial bar.
A nice gentle facial bar that’ll leave your face clean. The one I got was activated charcoal with tree tea oil that’s supposed to cleanse the skin thoroughly and intensely. My son who has acne-prone skin tried this facial bar and seems to be perfect for his skin. It leaves his skin fresh and clean, without making it dry. I, on the other hand, have quite an unpleasant experience. My dry combination skin feels quite dry and tight. When in use you get a nice amount of lather just from a couple of rubs and my son says that it feels just like a regular facial cleanser except for its different smell and the fact that there is no bottle. That’s a good thing, I like to reduce the amount of plastic waste so not having a plastic bottle is nice. It’s small and fits in the hand nicely. It's good to know that this made in the UK facial bar is vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. It's also made 100% free from soap and all the nasties. For £5.99, the price is in line with other similar facial bars you found on Amazon, so it’s an acceptable value for money.Overall, a fresh smelling and ethical facial bar. Might be more suitable for oily skin than to dry combination.Thank you for reading.

Gentle Soap, Not Great Value
This soap certainly ticks all the boxes in terms of being ethical being Vegan friendly, free of plastics, parabens and soap plus being cruelty free tested. It is shaped to fit in the hand and gives a reasonable although not an exceptional lather when mixed with water. It is very gentle on the face with no tingle or irritation of any kind and so will appeal to those who need to be careful with their skin. Two key ingredients here are the charcoal and tea tree oil which certainly gives you both cleansing and calming properties and it is the former which supplies the distinctive fragrance making this especially suitable for men who don't like any kind of flowery or fruity smells. My big issue with this bar is its size-a mere 60 g which in my view is simply not enough-true it will last a fair time, but I have recently tested others with equally impressive properties which are at least 100 g. Even if you want to emphasize the ethical and gentle virtues of the soap there has to be some value on offer and in this department this one falls short.

Gentle on your skin
This bar has helped with the oiliness and shininess of my skin and also helped to clear some of my larger acne breakouts.Haven't used long enough to comment on how it will help with my acne long-term however short-term, it has been great. It did cause a bit of purging however these mini breakouts only lasted 2 days each and were very small and not painful. Anything that makes my skin purge, tends to work really well.Would recommend to rub the wet bar on your hand and then use what is on your hands on your face - not to directly rub the bar on your face to avoid contamination.Even after the first use my skin felt so much softer and after less than a week my skin is looking so much better. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and super well cleaned and not drying at all just leaves skin nice and glowy. It's also pretty good at removing makeup but I wouldn't rely on it as a makeup remover.Super gentle on your skin, with activated charcoal and tea tree oil to assist in reducing skin impurities.
