Super entertaining
I first read the second book of this series, From Ice to Flames, and loved it, so decided to download the rest of the series. These books are very entertaining, with a great balance of humor and emotion, and the author developed great characters. In this story, the female character, Marin, is a hoot. She resigned her job in a journalism magazine for ethic reasons and went home early to find her boyfriend having sex with her best friend. Instead of breaking down with sobs, she slugged her and then went to town with him. Then left to her parents house where she hid in her old bedroom, watching Netflix and eating ice cream for a month. Her parents got fed up with her inaction and got her a job nannying for a friend’s grandkids. That is how she starts taking care of Dr. Greydon West’s children.Grey is the oldest of the West brothers, he’d also had a betrayal, his wife of ten years had been unfaithful for two years and he learned about the affair on the same day she left on a business trip with her lover and the plane crashed. He’s angry and embittered but has nowhere to vent his feelings. And what is worse, now he has doubts whether his baby Aaron is really his son. When Marin arrives to work at his house, they are gobsmacked at her appearance: rainbow colored hair, multiple piercings and tattoos. Kinsley is immediately fascinated, Grey doubtful. As the days go on, Marin and the kids fall in love, Grey is overwhelmed with this young woman, sixteen years younger, who turns his world upside down, sassing him, challenging him on his actions and attitudes. He questions himself why he doesn’t fire her, until he sees her with his children and her hilarious conversations with Kinsley.Family is strong in this series. Grey’s parents and brothers are present and supportive through all the book. Grey, who was full of resentment, is a little distant from his children as he mourns and festers, but Marin takes charge. He falls in love, very much against his wishes, and Marin finds him too old initially. There are very sweet moments, very angsty moments, and other comical since Marin is straightforward and a spitfire and doesn’t hold back. She’s perfect to jumpstart his heart once again. Super entertaining!

5 True Second Chance Stars!!!!
I'm a sucker for a single dad story and in my opinion Ms. Hargrove is one of the best authors I read that writes a spectacular single dad book. Grey is a man that started his day one way and it ended completely different resulting in him becoming a single dad and not in the way he was planning it.Enter Marin a woman that has recently had her life thrown into upheaval thanks to her boyfriend and thanks to her mom she's the new nanny for Grey's kids Aaron, his baby boy and his precious and oh so smart seven year old little girl Kinsley. She is not what he expected in a nanny given her looks, which Kinsley loved but he questioned. And so begins their tentative relationship of employer and employee. As I was reading their book, I laughed out loud so many times thanks to Kinsley and also because Marin doesn't let Grey walk all over her. She's had to toughen up a little bit and refuses to be walked all over and Grey just doesn't know what to do with her. Other than fight his attraction to her that is...and this is the part of the story that had me fanning myself! As the story progresses and Marin grows closer and to kids and falls in love with them, she also learns why Grey is the way he is especially when it comes to love and his kids. At certain points in the story my heart was beating so fast because I could feel how much Grey loved his kids but there were some definite questions that needed answering which could have repercussions that no one wanted. Not only does Marin fall in love with the kids, but she and Grey stop fighting their attraction and holy wowza they're on fire!! But it's not smooth sailing for either of them. What it all comes down to is that sometimes taking that leap for love, while complicated and maybe just a little messy is worth it and the person you least expected to be your forever love is the person standing right in front of you. This book is everything I love about Ms. Hargrove's writing and her ability to write a story that is both light and a little dark but filled with so much love.

An emotional roller coaster of a read!!!
Oh what a fabulous read, a real page turner. Annie, you’ve excelled yourself, I FLOVED it!!!If you’re a fan of single dad romances and, like me, you loved A.M. Hargrove’s ‘For The Love of English’ then you MUST read this!!From Ashes To Flames has sent me on an emotional roller coaster of a ride. And what a ride! The fast paced plot had me hooked from the beginning and kept on the edge of my seat for most of the time, when I wasn't chuckling to myself. One hilarious scene in particular had me laughing so out loud so hard. You can always rely on this author to add her quirky sense of humour to her books. Pure genius!I love a strong female lead who isn’t afraid to say what she’s thinking and Marin McLain was all that and more. With her rainbow coloured hair, piercings and tattoos and sassy mouth Dr. Greydon West didn’t know what had hit him. He'd definitely met his match with Marin.Although Grey seemed quite distant and unfeeling at the start I adored that hot, sexy doctor *sighs*. Did I mention that he was hot?I did feel for Grey over what he went through but at one point I did want to grab him by the shoulders to shake some sense into him and shout, ‘GET A GRIP, MAN!! LOOK WHAT YOU’RE DOING!!!!’Six year old Kinsley TOTALLY stole the show. She turned my heart to mush with her Irish step-dancing and her ‘clicky shoes’.From Ashes To Flames was a definite 'Goldilocks' read for me...just right. It had just the right amount of humour, angst, drama, tension and sizzling, hot passion. Oh, and the surprise at the end was simply perfect!I know I’m not doing this book the justice it deserves but trust me, this is one you need on your kindle. Go #1Click the hell out of this, I can't recommend it enough!!

I loved it!
I love a good Enemies To Lovers/Single Dad Romance and this was it. Throw in cute kids, a feisty nanny, and a grouchy hero and you have a winner. I love the storyline. Grey and Marin are brilliant characters, and I look forward to reading the second book in the fantastic West Brothers Standalone Novels.
