It does the job.
Don't look at my 3 star rating as good or bad, just consider it neutral. The company does email you here and there requesting a review and that's fine, I just wanted to take time to get used to the product before I did one. I don't like first impression reviews because 100% of the time first impressions do not end up the same feelings down the road. The product opens opposite of the usual way to unscrew a cap, so don't be alarmed. Made me giggle! Second, the artistrove lettering wipes off the moment water touches it within first use, which isn't a big deal unless you're big on making sure your tools have their brand names. When using the brush I noticed water comes out from the side and drips down into the brush head, not coming from the brush head it's self which was what I'm used to so it took a moment to get used to that. (So it doesn't soak the brush up on squeezing, you need to make sure to angle the brush properly or else the water will just drip onto the paper or in the pallet and not soak the actual brush it's self.) Painting was fine, did what I expected a water brush to do, it just has a different build than the one I used to use and that's fine. It does its job, I get the texture and look I'm going for with painting with it, and that's all that matters in the end.

Affordable and does what it says
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I agree with another reviewer who described this brush set as " Very Basic - A Great Value Option". That is exactly how I would sum them up. The brushes I received didn't resemble the product picture in that they didn't have the company name embossed on the side, nor was the name printed on them in large blue font like some other customer photos. Not that it really matters to the product's performance, but if that might bother you, be prepared to receive something other than clearly depicted. As for the performance, they are indeed basic and I'd say this is good for beginners, and for more abstract types of painting, but not for any detail work that requires more opaque (dryer brush) coloring. These are indeed self moistening and you could end up with too much wetness when you don't want it (bulletjournalers beware! If your journal paper can't handle a lot of saturation, go easy with these brush pens). And if you accidentally squeeze it, a huge droplet of water will come out of the side of the brush tip, as stated in the product description. The bodies do screw on opppsite of what you would think. I'm satisfied with my purchase, however I will stick to more expensive, traditional brushes for more serious artwork and detailing.

Great product that performs exactly as it should
Great product that performs exactly as it should. These brushes make watercolor a dream. I don't squeeze, the water is automatically served to the brush and a smooth, just right amount of water is always available. These brushes take the drudgery out of watercoloring. The three sizes are just right. After using a regular type wash brush on the background, I can then fill in the details with the three sizes of brushes provided, from large to small. The pens do not leak, they don't seep out of control, they deliver a steady pace of water just as it's needed. Great product!

Biggest Stinker I've Bought On Amazon
This is the first time ever that I've left a one star review. This product deserves it. Why it's even offered on Amazon isn't helping my trust of this site at all. They leak! Squeeze as gently as possible to actually use the darned things, and you've got water dropping all over the place. The caps twist off backwards. That's not such a big deal, but put it together with the flimsy materials they're made of, the leakage, the so-so bristles and it's one more reason not to get them. Yes, they're less expensive than some other brands, but only by a few dollars, and nothings inexpensive if they aren't usable. Ugh.

Quirky, but Usable
There are some quirks to these pens. Out of the three of them two dispense water out of the side instead of the tip. The smallest one seems to continuously flow from the tip, which makes it harder to control. The largest one had a single bristle that was very long and I had to trip it or it would ruin my lettering. They tighten backwards from normal (lefty-tighty instead of righty-tighty); however, that really isn't a big deal once you figure that out. These do the job, but they are a bit trickier to learn how to use.

I love these brushes
I love these brushes. Simple concept and they get the job done without having to be really expensive. The reason they are only getting three stars is because one of the brush tips had a piece of it bent during the production process and it couldn't be straightened so I had to trim it the best I could in order to make the brush functional. It didn't seem worth the return process just to risk the same thing happening to another set.

Very Basic - A Great Value Option
These are very basic water brushes that I use with watercolor pencils for my daughters as a summer activity. They're okay for kids doing arts and crafts; but, if I were doing any hand lettering or a personal project, these would be too frustrating and inconsistent. Even though that seems really negative, I'm giving them 4-stars because they're a good balance of basic ability and price.

Amazing Brushes!
This brushes are amazing. I first discovered these types of brushes in an instagram video. Because I'm extremely new to watercolors I didn't want to purchase expensive water brush pen. When I came across these I figured the prices was right, especially for brushes I may ruin. They are actually a lot better quality than I thought. I even received a manual from Artistrove on how to use these brushes which has helped a newbie like me a ton!
