Q: Does it leave little silver pieces on the lid

Just received this new can opener. Sad & disappointed with its performance. 1st use & I thought I was in a machine shop. Metal shards all over can rim. But to be fair....its not alone in this problem. After trying 4 brands of this type cutter. They all do it! So I give up. Going back to the "old style electric opener". With the top cut & sharp lid. A better mouse trap.....side cutter isn't. Skip1911

Q: What's the trick to "locking" the lever so it can open cans without me having to hold it down the entire time?

Their is NO trick. You have to stay there & keep pressing the lid down. They advertise as a walk away operation but it's not...they lied! It's a piece of junk. Mine only lasted a few months & I was unable to return it after that length of time for a refund. DON'T buy!

It plugs in, and so far has been working as described.
