Really well-made waterproof Y junction connector. Suitable for a variety of external garden lighting, fish pond pump, and light setups and underground wiring.I like this junction connector for a number of reasons.1- small and compact.2- good thick durable materials3- different size glands for the best wire fit4- 3 way connector internally5- Quality glands for good water seals6- Easy to assemble7- Strong screw threads for effective sealingAs with all these types of connectors, the trick is to keep them as clean as possible, as any dirt, or particles under the seals will potentially affect the ability to keep water out. If you assemble this outside, keep this in mind, keep everything as clean as possible, especially when you finally screw up the connectors for the final assembly.Another point is to ONLY use round insulation cables/ wires. Anything with a twist or noncircular profile may not always seal as well as round cable. Also, make a good match between the cable size and the correct gland. Make sure the gland is small enough to squeeze tight, but not too tight so as to make the rubber deform or pop out of the intended location. I find that hand tight is enough and not to use any silicone grease, as this can allow the seals to slide out of the locations.AS a test, you can wire the connector up and immerse it in a bowl of water for a few hours. Dry it off and open it up to see if any water has penetrated. I found it dry and completely sealed, as intended.A good connector, well made and the best way to get a branch connection in a waterproof location.

Don’t over-tighten the swaling nut and use the correct width gland for the cable – you get two different internal diameters to do this.All in all, an excellent way to get a spur from a power cable outside where it might get wet. Recommended and worthy 4 stars for this junction box.

A robust electric cable connector seems well made and weatherproof.Be aware that when splicing 2 x electrical items onto a singular power cable that the combined wires become rather thick. If wanting to join thick cable solid core electric wires there may not be sufficient space available.That said, the connectors are strong and once the unit is screwed together offers great protection, easily rain and splash proof.

This product should come with more instructions, especially for a novice like me. I couldn't work out exactly how to connect the two cables. Fortunately my neighbour, an electrician offered to do it for me. He said it was very difficult and fiddly to connect the cables.

I got this to extend the security lights on the back of the house, it is great for the job as it is relatively small and light, so doesn't strain the cables too much (but it would be nice if it had a way of attaching it to the wall).I like that it has different size silicone seals for different diameter cables and that the connector inside is very easy to wire up. Apart from a screwdriver for the terminals no other tools are needed, everything can be tightened up by hand. It certainly seems to live up to its waterproof rating so will provide a safe and effective way of joining electrical cables outside.

I ordered this for my partner as he's an electrician by trade. He needed one of these junction box for upgrading some of the cabling in our garden . He said it was good quality and good value for money. He hasn't actually fitted it yet so I can't comment on ease of use and water tight . I don't foresee any problems though .

Not sure if this is up to the job, the seal is only ok, time will tell, I don't think I would buy it again
