Ok for a reference
I wide collection of legends, not easy to read but very extensive, many of the legends are covered.I don't advice to read the book as a novel, it is better to keep the book to read it from time to time one legend at a time, each legend is around 10 pages and normally there is no sequence between one legend and the next.

Great Historical Read
I did not know much about Charlemange when I saw this for the Kindle. Being a fan of Arthurian books and Thomas Bulfinch, I decided to take the chance on this text. I was not disappointed. This is a relatively easy read and is filled with wonderful stories and tales. For a fan of European lore, I would recommend this book.

Tried & failed
I tried to read this but kept feeling very bogged down so I gave up. I'll have to look for another book about Charlemagne that is less dry.

Miniscule Font
I returned this without reading it. I can't read it. The font is miniscule. This review references the edition with a black and white cover with imagery that looks like silhouettes of trees and is published by Mythik Press.

Fantastic tales
Bulfinch retells some of the stories of knights errant in the time of Charlemagne. the title is misleading - Charlemagne plays a very small part in most of the tales, does not appear at all in many and is never the central character. the stories are fantastical in the extreme, full of knights-errant whose first thought is always to fight every knight they meet, maidens in distress and enchanters. These are precisely the sort of stories that Cervantes parodies in Don Quixote - which is the only reason I read the book, which tends to get repetitive after a while. The present book is one of three sections of a larger book by Bulfinch and appended here is an index to the whole original, so voluminous as to take up a quarter of this book.

Amazing how i feel like I'm reading about Arthur and the Roundtable. Nothing earth shattering here, but interesting glimpses into history.

Worth the money
A little more worn than advertised, but, in good condition with no issues with the pages and illustrations. Would by from this vendor again.

... a one-stop shop to do some very quick and dirty research as a refresher of material previously studied
I was looking for a one-stop shop to do some very quick and dirty research as a refresher of material previously studied. This is all of that and more. Whilst I could have achieved what I set out to with a couple of hours of skim reading I found myself happily reading from cover to cover, and found some excellent pointers on where to focus my research on more specific areas.
