The Newlyweds: A completely gripping psychological thriller with a jaw-dropping twist

A tale of subterfuge and mystery
This domestic psychological thriller is told through the female protagonist, Vivien's point of view. A seemingly refined lady who is married to charming neurosurgeon, Ashton her life seems perfect but her character is shrouded in secrets. The story of Ashton and Vivien's married life looks perfect from the outside but there is a lot going on in that house. The author weaves subterfuge and mystery in this couple's life and there were times when my sympathies swung like a pendulum between this pair. Who is really the bad guy? Halfway through the book and we find out Vivien's back story and explains her actions. This fast-paced drama is well written but there are some chapters in the book when it gets bogged down with Vivien's indecisiveness and made me want to skim through some pages. All in all the secondary characters, Cady, Lily and Georgia-May make this novel a complicated web of lies. Who gets to win in the end? Read and find out for yourself.

You know what? I really enjoyed this book! Each evening I picked this up I was excited to see what happens next. The characters within these pages were damaged.I’ve heard of getting revenge but......well. The length of time to get revenge astounded me.The many curveballs in this devious, hate, longstanding, shocking read was great. The author did such a good job of making a readers mind diverting down a different path, then reaching a dead end. Eventually I was going around a roundabout returning to my confused state of trying to work this out.It is suspenseful, it is enthralling and it is a book I will remember. This book was not straight forward telling you a “thriller” it’s much more than that.To have that on your shoulders wanting to “make someone pay” after all those years. Then .....,boom, treble punches for the reader!Fab.

Love it!
‘The Newlyweds’ kept me right on the edge with its twists and turns. I loved how I couldn’t fathom the truth of anything out and that ending - utterly terrifying! It definitely comes under one of my biggest fears in life.I’ll start with the location as it was such a huge part of the book. It’s set in the Southern States in a beautiful large house surrounded by a lot of water. One thing Arianne Richmonde does brilliantly in her books that I’ve read is to take me on journeys to amazing places. I felt as though I could hear the birdlife and feel the breeze coming from the ocean. But it’s unsettling. So much beauty and so many sinister happenings. Perfect for thriller lovers who crave a lot of mystery too.I loved the addition of Georgia-May’s character and Cady’s too. Both added so many extra layers to the story. It delves into the past on many occasions and the answers are all dished up with gusto at the right time.If you love a fast moving, mysterious, psychological thriller that will take you to an amazing location, then this is it!

Like a conspiracy theory
This book read like a conspiracy theory. The plot is ludicrous. Far fetched is much too lenient. Some of it was right on too which was irritating at least to me. If you can swallow the plot, you may well enjoy it although it takes a long while to get going. I had a lot of it figured out before the finish but the ending was good and very fast paced. The characters aren't particularly pleasant and frankly I would hate to have Ashton as my doctor. Vivian is nasty and vengeful and why the long drawn out descriptions of food and menus? Unnecessary padding.Sometimes it seems that because of the proliferation of psychological suspense novels, authors are forced into more and more ridiculous plots in order to get the required twist at the end. All you have to do is think of the most ridiculous end you can imagine and more often than not you are right. These books can take a long time to get going and this is no exception.

Ok-ish
Quite a long book or did it just seem that way to me? It's a little boring at times with endless descriptions about food preparation and marine life. To be honest, the plot was really starting to confuse me.Then it gets a little better. It's farfetched at times, but there are some really tense and exciting parts in there too.Overall, it's definitely worth a read but it's not the best book by any stretch.

Excellent!
Wow, wow and WOW!!!! I have never read a book by Arianna Richmonde before so I wasn't sure what to expect but the book description drew me in.Newlyweds Vivian and Aston seem to have the perfect marriage, they married fast but they think "when you know, you know"! To all their friends and Ashtons' family they are so happy and in love, the perfect couple. But then strange things start to happen, secrets pop up and people begin questioning how happy they really are together....... a twisty story that constantly surprises you and at least in two place I sat with my mouth gaping open having to re-read a sentence or two as I couldn't believe what I had read! The beginning was a little slow but it was setting the scene and once the story ramped up it galloped along at very fast speed. Loved this book and highly recommend it. Can't wait to read another of Arianne Richmondes "The Wife's House
