Callum's Hell (Dark Protégés) Paperback – May 17, 2019

Well heck. This book is not for the faint hearted. It is dark and twisted, filled with suspense, betrayal, heartache and a whole lot of hurt. I must say that there is a warning that the hero, Callum, does have flashbacks/memories of a gruesome childhood that is truly heart breaking and more than explains the title of this book.Very well written, this is a book about a serial killer and the woman (Giselle) who falls in love with him. Giselle obviously doesn't know he is a serial killer in the beginning and has not had the easiest life herself, including losing her cheating fiancé to her little sister and a family who don't seem to care about her at all. Once she discovers the truth, she is devastated in more ways than one.I found it very difficult to put this book down and kept wanting to know what would happen next. It is written from a dual pov and has 2 strong main characters and a hea - can be read as a standalone. Recommended for lovers of gritty, dark/suspenseful, romance. NOT recommended for readers below 18 years.

Wow again there is some violent stuff so be aware. Callum has so much bad happen to him. I think I would have done the same as him. Evil like that should die horribly and they done deserve to live. Great read .

Love story ✅Spicy ✅Drama ✅✅End to end you will love the story and then will read all the books that have the details around the other characters.Callum’s history is overall my favorite one.

I loved this heartpounding story. V. F. Mason has written a brilliant story. All of these stories have been filled with heartbreak, sadness and love.

I would give this more than 5 stars if I could. VF rights a gripping story of love and betrayal and forgiveness. Her depth of character and the background of these men are tragic. The plot is gripping from the beginning and will suck you in. If you want a regular love story then this is not the book for you. But If you want a story with true love and a flawed (and that is a mild term) but beautiful man then this will put you on your heals. 3rd time reading and now I’m gonna go read Sociopath’s story again. Please read from her first book. That way you will understand more the bond between these men and their support of each other.

Well written story but I have this pet peeve about stories that jump from past to present every chapter and this was one of those so it was hard for me to stay invested and it was listed as a dark romance but it was very dark at all I've read way worse but if you're a KU subscriber I would say check it out for your self

Crazy little world of serial killers that this author has created. More importantly while it may realistically be eye rolling, it is absolutely utterly fascinating. I enjoyed all the twists and who’s who in this one. Callum’s character was truly amazing.

I really really enjoyed this story. It was definitely different from all the other romances I've read. Who knew I'd like a serial killer romance so much. I felt bad for Callum and conflicted for Giselle, when she found out his dark secret. Then I found myself understanding and feeling empathetic towards him but not liking what he did, like Giselle. I wanted to read it in one sitting but I also made myself read it slow because I didn't want it to end so quickly and loved the suspense! V.F. Mason where did you get your ideas from? I'll be reading more V.F. Mason in the very near future.

It's good.. felt it kind of dragged in certain places.. the truth time was rushed.. the epilogue scared me till it was cleared.. yup.. the title is apt!!! Lolz

Loved every page!!! OMG I've read the other books and finally got round to Callum's story. It did not disappoint, it's amazing!!! Heartbreak runs through his story and then he finally finds peace with his beautiful Giselle. Thank you V F Mason. Now I will continue with the following book, no doubt just as compelling 👏👏👏❤️❤️

You want a dark romance? This is it, this book took me through a wide range of emotions, you know the author has done a amazing job when your half in love with a fictional serial killer! I absolutely adore any author who writes a strong female lead, and v.f. Mason sure delivered in this book, if you only read one book this year, it's this one!

Callum's Hell was a thoroughly enjoyable dark romance that I couldn't put down. It was well worth the sandpaper eyes I had after my super late night of reading to the very last page ;)The hero in this story would be better viewed as an anti-hero. Callum was a cold, ruthless and methodical serial killer. The loner had one vulnerability; his obsession with florist and landscape designer, Giselle. Callum set about manipulating events to possess his 'wild orchid' and this began to highlight the territories and men of the underworld to which he belonged as well as the intricacies of his plan to possess the h. The author did a great job evoking empathy and understanding for a H that really would be the villain in any other story and for creating a h (who was also forged from pain) that made sense for such a complex man.Just beware, this is a dark romance. The author doesn't spare the details and hide Callum's nature. He definitely has a sadistic side that coldly embraces his work. Conversely, his embraces for Giselle are hot, steamy and addictive.

Another great read I gave it a 4 star as some bits felt a little over the top ofr me. However, I still enjoyed it. I don't know if it's just me but sometimes whne I read the same book from an author they almost use the same lines from one alpha to the next. (I don't even think I'm making sense lol) anyway enjoy the book.
