This book deals with a very real health issue that millions of people have had to face in their lives. The characters are well written and the reader feels as though we are right there in the story with the characters. The story eventually becomes a tear-jerker but we are left with a semi- happy ending. I enjoy stories that include animals and this story has both a dog and a cat who lighten the mood a bit when the story threatens to become too heavy. All in all it was a very good read. Review: Great Romance story - I really Enjoyed this book It was a great read and am going to read Another one of her Books

Reason for My Four Stars
OK, this was a good book. Not Debbie's best. Throughout most of the book, it felt like a person on the witness stand testifying. There seemed to be a lack of something. In her other books, I wanted to know the characters ...be a member of their families. It was deeply into this book until I felt any empathy with the characters. The only reason why this was true for me is because I have lost two close friends to cancer, and now my beautiful dog has cancer. I don't mean to be critical as I have read all of Debbie's books, but this just wasn't one of her best for me.

A. Sweet Read
As most Macomber novels, A Walk Along the Beach has a sweet ending with a few tears on the way. The settling is a place that you would like to visit in person.

Fantastic read
This book was probably the best Debbie Macomber book I've read. It wasn't a romance like so many of Debbie's are, but a heartwarming story of a young lady and her family and how she meets and grows an interest in a man but puts things aside when her sister falls ill. It's a page turner and you won't want to put it down.

Sweet story about love
Although the beginning of the story seemed to be a lot of background, which I believe could have been more effectively woven throughout the actual drama itself, I was captivated by the characters and their relationships throughout the rest of the book. I would love to see Debbie do a series with character follow-through. She is a gifted writer and her characters are very real and relatable.

I am a Debbie macomber fan and look forward to her books but this one was too sad . I know it’s real life and we all live with that but it’s nice to get an escape from the sadness

Funny and sad. Loved the storyline. It was so emotional towards the end, the tears were running down my face and the lump in my throat made it difficult to swallow. It was so well written I had to finish It before I went to bed!

Wow. This was not the typical Debbie Macomber I was expecting. I cried. I laughed. It was fantastic. Just the right amount of pull on the ol heartstrings. It's 4am and I couldn't put it down. Don't start this book before bed.

I totally devoured this book in 1 sitting, I just couldn't put it down! A departure from the way Debbie Macomber usually writes;( each chapter seen from the characters point of view, but it works, boy does it work! It's subject is a sad one, and I bawled my eyes out, hard to do at 4am with a husband sleeping next to me, good job my kindle is a paperlight! Oh it's good, so good I could have given it 100 stars and it still wouldn't have been enough. The storyline is classic boy meets girl, boy is shy, etc, but this author has a way of making it so much more, much more! Set in Oceanside, same as Cottage By The Sea (I re-read this before I started Walk on the Beach) Willa and Harper are sisters, Harper had beaten Leukaemia a few years previously but recently had taken to doing daredevil events, did she know something? Willa, owner of Bean There is worried about her, but Harper is determined, as she's determined to see her Sister settled and matchmakes with a new member of the community, Sean. Sean has his own story, he's a professional¥⁹ photographer, travelling the world, and is tongue tied around girls, but is smitten by Willa, so much so he buys a coffee every day just to see her and he doesn't even like coffee!, that's a sign of true love! Of course, there are animals involved too. Old friends from Cottage by the Sea make an appearance but you don't need to have read this book to enjoy Walk on the Beach. I will now re-read this book, and make sure I have lots of chocolate on hand, and a box of tissues! I think this is one of Debbie Macomber's best ever books, and that's hard to say as all her books are!!! If you don't read another book ever, read this one, it's so worth it!!!
