Very disappointing!
If I am honest, this was a book that I did not like at all. The case is old and the book was boring. The entire book talks about this horrible mother and the extreme abuse that she put her children through, especially the girls. There was very very little about how she was finally caught and there was no court case. Actually, her time in the courtroom was not even a part of the main book but was added at the end of the book. There were a few pages written about her capture but again, very little. If you are interested in a story about extreme abuse and family secrets this book may be for you. If you are interested in an investigation, arrest and courtroom drama, forget it. You will be as disappointed with this book as I am. I would never recommend this book to anyone interested in true crime. It was awful!

Got pretty boring in parts
This woman was sick. The only problem was like most true crime, I really don't need to be bored to tears by the complete history of all the towns where the people live, and every person's family tree and their parents and grandparents life stories. I don't know why most true crime authors think I would want to know all that."This person was born in 1956 to these 2 people, the mother was born in this town, here's that towns entire history and her parent's life story. Her grandparents were these people and came here from Italy, here's the history of Italy and her grandparents life story. Now, lets do the same for her father." Whhhy?

Good Read
I read this in 3 days, I cannot imagine a woman being so detached and cruel to children she gave life to. She didn't have a hard life but she poured a hard life on her children. I'm not surprised all of them has problems. Heck I'm amazed that they ,Ade it as far as they did.The only negative is one minute Terry is telling her story, Robert is telling his story, the author is telling the story or folks involved are telling their story. It's a bit miscombobulated. You have to, or at least I had to reread a couple of paragraphs but that's ok, I still enjoyed it.

Horrific tale of child abuse and murder
It is almost incomprehensible that a mother could perpetrate such horrific physical and psychological abuse on her children. To make them complicit in the murder and cover up of their own siblings is unconscionable. It’s no wonder that all her surviving children were drawn to lives of drugs and crime. Theresa Cross is the stuff that nightmares are made of. She was able to manipulate her children and the system in a way that kept her secrets from being found out for years. It wasn’t until the nightmares and guilty conscience of her surviving daughter became too much to bear. Even then it took a while before the authorities would be able to put the pieces together and bring Theresa Cross to justice. The narrative got a little bogged djown here and there but all in all this was worth reading.

Too Grim To Enjoy Reading - Mommy Sadist
Warning: this story is very grim, and very detailed -- really way more detail than needed, but I have read a lot of true crime books, so decided to read this. Of all books I've read, I have never read one so disturbing as this one, and how the mother slowly killed her two daughters . I have never read of anyone more evil as to kill their own daughters, but it was also disturbing that the two sons were accessories in the "disposal" and cover-up . Very sad . Cannot recommend this book, but it is well written. Also, I really don't like the title. "Killer Mom" or "Mommy Sadist" would be more appropriate, but maybe those titles were used.

Not Your Typical True Crime
This book is a little hard to review, as I did find it interesting reading, even if it was very hard to understand how this all could of occurred not so long ago, but ... it’s not a standard true crime, it’s more what I would call a biography, as there is just about zero of anything to do with police or courts, and 99.9% of a retelling of the lives of the people involved. As I mentioned I do find it hard to comprehend all of what is stated in the book, I just can’t get over how people would allow this to happen to themselves and to each other, but I do understand that with such extended mental brainwashing, and with an induction that is steeped so deeply in the family values that yes it could, it’s just a shame that not one child spoke out any sooner.I would not recommend this book to anyone who’s after the normal true crime tale, but if you want something totally different then this may peek your interest.

Intense story of a mother who kills 2 of her daughters
Wow, what a story. OK, I will say it, Theresa Knorr Cross is a horrible, horrible person. She treated everyone who loved her like her own personal slaves, that everyone should always be at her beck and call and do her bidding. She screams at you if you did anything wrong. She had to always make herself look good. She even did this to her own children, or rather, especially to her own children. And husbands. This book is about the murders of 2 of her daughters, caused by her in so many ways. These girls deserved so much more. The book itself is well-written and well-researched, not an easy feat either with all of the details needed. I really liked this book and do recommend it.

Badly written,
How to turn a compelling murder mystery into serious boredom! Just ask this author! Long winded & incredibly dull ,

Heartbreaking story about surviving a wickedly sick mother.
This mother was a real cunundrum to me, was she really mentally ill or just totally in it for herself and to hell with her children. I don't think anyone knows the answer.

Fascinating Read
This book is well written. If you are the type of person who wants to understand people in the sense of why people do what they do, this book is for you. However, please be aware that parts of the book are very graphic and disturbing.

I really enjoyed this book
I really enjoyed this book, had trouble putting it down. Well written, flows evenly, 1 comment, since read on kindle, newest updates, and personal reporting would be interesting to see.
