An Identification Guide to Recovered Colonial & Revolutionary War Artifacts

I was somewhat disappointed in that most items pictured are from just one area. It's certainly not a comprehensive guide. Along side of other books it is good to have, however.

Im sure the author put a lot of time and effort into this book but unfortunately it leaves a lot to be desired.First i think it should be called "An Identification Guide to Recovered Colonial & Revolutionary War Artifacts IN WAYNE COUNTY MICHIGAN". Because nearly everything in this book was recovered in Wayne County Michigan.Second, it seems like all of the things photographed are things someone has found while metal detecting. I have been metal detecting for a while and most of the unidentifiable things i find could be found on the pages of this book....because both the things i find, and the things pictured are in near unidentifiable condition. Melted dropped lead and iron? I find that stuff everywhere and its not always from 300 years ago.Im sorry Tim, im gonna keep the book, but it might just stay on the shelf...

Excellent resource for colonial artifacts. Most photos are in as recovered condition with minimal cleaning.

I agree with the previous post about all of the artifacts being found at a single site in Wayne County Michigan. The title emplied the focus of the finds were much broader in scope. Nice photographs and somewhat handy but there are more useful guides out there that help illustrate a much wider variety of artifacts from a variety of other sites.

Great book we love it

Good photo resolution but the finds are all from one small town and very poor identification with little to no explanation of items use throughout. Save your money.
