Enjoyable books
Very much enjoyed reading Julia Quinn's books, reliably amusing and diverting.

Minx
This book focuses on Dunford, who we have already met in Splendid and Dancing at Midnight. It follows the rather basic story line of man falling in love with his innocent young ward, yet Quinn makes the story readable and very enjoyable, with visits from characters from previous books, humour, passion and a rather frustrating hero it is a book I would reccomend.Henry (short for Henrietta) is not an usual girl, having been in charge of a large country estate for several years, she is independant and head strong. Enter Dunford, an unwilling guardian, who fights his (almost) instant attraction to Henry. There are several obstructions between Dunford and Henry, most of them which could be solved by them talking, but then there would very little plot to the book, so you can excuse their lack of communication. An enoyable read, perhaps not on of Quinns best books, but still very good.

Delightfully witty
This book was as mesmerizing at the first 2 books in the series, the story lines was captivating and kept me ready well into the wee hours of the morning, I read it from start to finish in just 2 days. Lady's of today would still identify with the story lines as the female mind is as it should be, (correct in every way), and our worlds although have altered and changed dramatically since the early 18 & 19th century's our dilemmas and heart breaks are not quite as different.

This has to be my favourite Julia Quinn book
I read this book a few years ago and have read it numerous times since then! This has to be my favourite Julia Quinn book. It's a feel good book and it's easy to warm to the hero and the heroine.

Enjoyed with a tinge of sadness
I did really enjoy the book but I was saddened by Dunfords reaction to the letter. He was the older and more experienced person and he should’ve recognised it for what it was. I think the ending could’ve been happier for longer though the epilogue was great.

Worth reading
Henrietta (Henry) Barrett wears breeches instead of dresses and manages her elderly guardian's Cornish estate better than any male steward could, however when her uncle dies, the estate and title passes to a distant relative, William Dunford, London's most elusive bachelor. Dunford, it appears, has not inherited Stannage Park, but he's inherited Henry as his ward. Feeling obligated he takes her to London and launches her into the London season where she becomes the darling of the ton and – to Dunford's dismay – more attractive than he could have thought possible. This is one of Julia Quinn's early books, but definitely worth a read.

Review by MR
I enjoy Julia Quinn's books I've read many...but as with many regency romance novels the authors are nearly always American and one of the biggest and most frequent and for me the most irritating mistakes the make is in the amounts of money people in this period would have... into the first few pages of this book a bet of a thousand pound was made which in today's standard would equate to more like 100 thousand....even in the 21century a thousand pounds is a lot of money in the early 19th century it would probably be unheard of please Authors a little bit more thought when writing about money would be good for me...you get get these kind of errors with British authors of this period but unfortunately there is not enough of them

A good read
Julia Quinn's books are always worth reading and, although this one was far from being my favorite, it was interesting and exciting.I just think the epilogue could have been a little more creative. To be honest, I liked Emma and Alex's story (Blydon series book 1) a great deal more.

Too predictable, too plain
Well Julia is very often great with her words but sometimes some stories - specially sequels just do not progress. So is it with Minx. It’s simple, predictable, plain. Can be ignored.

very likable characters
That make you want a happy ending for them. I wasn’t really afraid - more annoyed at how long it took this couple to iron out their difficulties. But all in all, I thought it was a good end to the series.
