The ‘Read Me First’ Book on the Subject
When we think of the First World War we picture a landscape disfigured by trenches, craters, mud, confusion and destruction, but those trenches were designed and constructed by engineers to a plan. Andy Belsey takes us on a personal journey detailing the research, techniques and artistry behind the creation of a truly exquisite set of miniatures detailing the construction of those trenches where so many lived and died, written in plain English, the book is appealing not only for the model maker but the scholar, the artist and those with an interest in the subject. The book is underpinned by a long career in professional modelmaking and the author’s extensive research into his own family history. By far the best ‘how to’ book on the subject I’ve read.
